Just wanted to extend KUDOS to the crew. Due to their ceaseless care & work, the Tenyo experience continues to be alive, vibrant & ever-evolving. I wanted to thank Killertweety for his fine & detailed 'Excalibur Improved' & Tenyo 'Knock-offs' articles at tenyo.be. Well researched & thoughtfully written imo. Stereo's tenyo blog just gets better & better over time. The recent addition of the highly creative 'Stylized pictures' is a true artists vision of the minds' eye. Each & every day while I am viewing these fine sites, I find myself silently thanking both these gentlemen for their continued efforts & endless dedication. If we ever meet...the brews are on me Lads.

You are absolutely 100% correct on that one Amazing Azzam. I just recently made the connection re Magic Patagonia re Roberto re videos. Top-notch work for sure. All these men go way above the call of duty. If I could use but one word...Inspirational. Mind you, Ed stated the situation spot on.

Have to agree with all that has been said.
I appreciate the time and effort made by all and the addition of the videos is excellent.
To keep a web site up and current and always interesting isn't an easy task.
I frequent both Stereo's Blog and Killers page often they are extremely informative.
Great to have those resources available and we all thank you for it.
When I need to know something about Tenyo these are the go to places for me.

Thank you very much for the kind word guys!

As for Magic patagonia's videos, they are one of the reasons I started collecting Tenyo 'seriously' - I believe they are also one of the reasons for the increase in popularity of these items

For me it's a hobby and I like to write stuff if I have time and if I have something usefull to say. I'm still planning to do a few videos and put them on Youtube like Riberto does and among them are a few Tenyo items (like Crossroads) - but I'm a bit afraid I will reveal the secret if not done perfect. Lot's of other plans too (article about Magiro, Magic Wagon, tips and routines section etc ... .). And there are some members who have been promising some pictures of their collection I can put on my website, looking forward to them too. (I still have to make a detailed picture of the 4 Nightmares DX linked ropes by the way)

Eddy's Magic in Hong Kong bought molds from Tenyo for some of their earlier items and manufactures them. I haven't read the article about "knock-offs," but when an item is legally made from the original molds, is it less collectible if your goal is simply to own and perform it? Not every Tenyo trick made in China is a knock-off.

Richard, thank you for this information.

No one is talking about Eddy's Magic - they aren't 'knock offs' at all. We or I am talking about versions that have slightly different names (apart from 4 Nightmares DX which has exactly the same name) but are the same tricks as Tenyo produces. Well, not the same, the quality is awfull. The used materials are rubbish and the gimmicks fall apart or just don't work. I can absolutely NOT imagine Tenyo gave their permission to produce these items (or Angelo Carbone for Mini Morphosis). So those are cheap, rubbish knock-offs. And sorry but they're made in China, and of course not every magic trick produced in China is rubbish or knock-off, I'm sorry if I gave that impression.

Another example: has anyone ever accused Milton Bradley of being 'Tenyo Knock Offs'? Of course not, they are exactly the same tricks produced with Tenyo's molds or Tenyo made them and Milton Bradley repacked them. All was properly agreed with Tenyo, as Eddy's Magic had an agreement with Tenyo.

To answer your question: no, if they are LEGALLY made and the same quality as Tenyo produces and your goal is to perform and not collect they are the same value as far I'm concerned. Milton Bradley's Magic Works are sometimes even better as with their version of Sutekina named Rope Of Calcutta which is a big improvement because the trick/gimmick is spring loaded. The manuals of Magic Works are also often better with a nice pattern/routine and sometimes explained better/more clear then Tenyo's manual, but that's just my opinion.

The article about the knock-off can be found on my website http://www.tenyo.be. If you think I'm emphasizing too much about 'made in China'/give the impression every trick produced in China is rubbish or knock-off I will be happy to change my article.

Hope this helps and cleared things out a bit.

I realize this is an older thread...
Does anyone have any information on Magiro?

I have an effect from them called "The Swords of Dragons".

I am looking to sell it as I am short on cash..
Keep an eye on "Tricks for Sale" section or I might do so on another site??
Not sure yet.

Thanks!
