Greetings from Shanghai folks
I have some shows coming up where the clients wants a few of their products given away magically at each table (it's a banquet thang). Key rings mainly but there may be other smallish items as well. I am still waiting for them to provide samples. My problem is they'll want me to give them out magically to everyone at each table. Apart from the logistics of hiding a heap of products to give away, how can I produce them over and over again without giving away the method. After all, once is magic, twice is education.
Can anyone make a suggestion? Please?

I've done the same a few times. One magical production at each table is probably all you'll need to do. Either produce enough in bulk, or do one really cool thing producing one, and then dole out to the other guests at that table from a swag bag.
You may also offer the client an alternative idea by doing a cool trick WITH the item, then giving the samples away to everyone. You'd of course, do this for each table.
In most cases, the client is less fixated on how the item is incorporated, just the fact that it is in some significant way.
Sometimes a little gentle steering accomplishes goals that benefit you, while giving the client perhaps a little more than they even expected.

Assuming a "ten top" banquet table situation, you could use a simple Devil's Hank. Show both sides, produce some key rings, show both sides a second time, produce more key rings, "steal" a body load and surprise everyone with a bottle or giant metal bolt (a la Don Alan) or the company product, if it's not too large! Devil's Hanks are available from the most elegant (Fabric Manipulation) to the near ridiculous.

I once did stress balls with corporate logo on them as a final cup load. So had 3 to give away at end of routine then handed more from a bag. As I handed them out I reloaded for next set. Bit I wasn't strolling, just had table at a booth.

Thanks for the advice guys. I wish I had a devils hank. Nice idea Patrick. Its too late to get one in. I also like your thinking on this, Michael. One production per table and simply hand out the rest.
And I take your point about cients needing to be steered. In China over the years I have had a few clients who made bookings then proceeded to tell me what magic they wanted. We want you to make the CEO disappear from here, appear over there, then make this table levitate, then make the product appear on hos head and so on. When told that would require a bigger budget, they recoiled in shock. "but you're a magician - what do you mean you need to build things?"

I too would steer the client to doing a trick with the item, and I would also suggest they put out the items and you then use them in performance.

May I suggest a "finger ring + string" routine BUT with your Keys ring?! There's plenty published around!

| 2 good pocket squares + 1 seamstress = A Devil's Hank.
I know it's spelled wrong.
