I recently purchased a deck of Ask Alexander playing cards, based on the description online of them being filled with magician-type secrets. I opened them up and could find nothing but a link to a website (askalexander.org) which was password protected. Anyone know whats up with these cards?

Caleb,
There's some discussion of them here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=205 Also, compare the Joker backs. I'm told there's something more, based on Paul Curry and back designs, but I haven't been able to dig it out. -) Larry S. |

There are quite a few things about these cards that are just waiting to be discovered! Took me a few days to work them out though... It is a very impressive deck of cards.
Btw, I think you might be mistaken about Curry. I believe it is a different magician who inspired part of the back design. |

Just to mention - I recently received an email from the Conjuring Arts Research Center,
where they say "We have also built in many diabolical properties to allow for a number of very deceptive effects, and we're sharing the first secret with you". Going to the website, they're mentioning a non-obvious property of the backs - well, heck, *I* looked for a long time without finding it, even knowing it was there. -) I appreciate their helping me this way; I'd contacted them earlier without any success, about this. It's an interesting strategy - selling a magic product with some built-in secrets but not telling folks what they are. I hope it works well for them. -) Larry S. |

I have just acquired a deck of these cards and have not discovered anything unusual about them beyond three ways in which they can be used as a one-way deck. What other secrets are there to these cards? Thanks in advance. |

In another post, Daryl from “TheOtherBrothers” notes:
“Arrange the cards so the hidden one way is lined up and stack the cards in mnemonica to see...” Here’s the link to that discussion: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......start=20 |

According to what seems to be CARC on the Penguin site:
"(While we independently invented this, Paul Curry has a similar bit of deception. See his World's Beyond for some more information)." |
