I've been working on a piece that involves various different Queen-themed effects. In the primary stages I was just rambling on and then came across a nice storyline. I was fooling around with Fisher's "Search and Destroy" and switched the kings for Queens to find their card. I pattered about how although the men of these times such as the King's, Knights and warriors were the hero's most remember, the Queen was the brains of the operation and were able to strategically find the location of the enemies using their innate magical powers. I go on to "Wild Card" rambling about how although the Queen was also a hero for her powers that she also had another side to her. A jealous side. I continue about how 9 of spades has been my favorite card for some time but the Queen used to be and she shows up from time to time to ruin the occasions, kind of like an obsessed ex-girlfriend. I move on to do a bit using "capitulating Queens", "Twisted Sisters" and "Sleeping Queen", keeping the story alive and interesting. I don't want this to stop now. I'm in search of more Queen-themed packet tricks. I realize I could throw in some Queen Monte (DB) or something of the like but I want to see what else there is out there as Im drawing blanks at the moment. To recap, I already have in use "Search & Destroy", Wild Card", "Twisted Sisters", "Capitulating Queens" and "Sleeping Queen".
Thanks, Jeff |

Mystery of the Vanishing Queens by Magic Makers follows Wild Card very nicely. I will do Wild Card then at the finish add one of the queens from wild card to the deck I have set up for vanishing queens explaining that she not only has power over the face cards but the ability to control the other queens as well - launch into Vanishing Queens trick leading with Queen of hearts.
The trick involves four piles each with a queen. you will make each queen vanish from its pile and all queens will end up together - led by the queen of hearts (you can choose to lead with any queen you prefer and the packet (bicycle stock) can be added to any poker size deck regardless of color. |

...I think it is a re-work of collins aces with queens. I don't think it counts as taking something if it was taken to begin with. The handling is different as well. |

Under Her Spell is a totally impromptu routine with normal cards. This effect uses gaffs. Where is the similarities?

You can do an Oil & Water using Queens.

DOWN THE GARDEN PATH - The four Queens are removed from the deck and a spectator’s chosen card is mixed among them. The performer claims that the spectator’s card has vanished and proceeds to show the four Queens, albeit somewhat suspiciously. Finally, the four Queens are tossed to the table, proving that the spectator’s card is no longer among them. It’s found to be face up in the deck that was set aside at the beginning

How about B'wave, although only one queen is revealed.
I'm trying to figure out what your plan is with this queens theme. Do you intend to perform all of these to the same audience? Or is this just for study? Bill |
