Hi all, for those of you who have build a standard modern art illusion what is the average cost term of materiel to build it (if we consider that we already have the proper tools).
I'm considering to build this illusion but I have a budget to respect. Thanks for your help. Johnny |

Maybe someone can tell you what one may have cost them to build. Hopefully, so. If not, as long as you have the plans, just make a comprehensive materials list and then do some window shopping to fill in the costs of those materials. Add it up and allow +/- 20% (usually +), and you should have a pretty accurate idea.

There are some threads in the workshop by those who built one - maybe search those out and PM them.

I built one and the material cost me about $180-$200 or so. I have some pictures and details in workshop area.

Actually I have a maximum budget of 500$ to build it so I'm wondering if it can be built with this budget.

If my math is correct, I think $180-$200 goes into $500 at least once.

I'm at about $250 into mine, and know it will go up a good bit for finishing hardware (latches, casters, and aluminum trim).

I spent probably $400 on mine, but I used the finest Baltic birch plywood and hardware I could find.

I'm about $575 into mine. It is covered in Formica instead of paint and the slide is custom fabricated. Also the phan*** w*** is custom made and bent in a metal shop so the cost is a bit higher due to that.

How many hours would you estimate you have into building one?
|

I work only 30 min. to a hour a day. but would guess it was 15 hrs for me.
