Hi Christopher,
I can honestly say that this routine is definitely not for you, and you should certainly not purchase it. As I stated before, this is not a performance video, it is a promo video. If you read the ad copy and view the promo video, you will know exactly what the effect is. If it doesn't appeal to you, then my ad and my routine is not intended for you. You will never see an actual performance of the routine unless you watch the DVD, see me live, or someone puts it up on Youtube without me knowing. All magic is not for everyone. You should pick and choose what connects with you. This routine obviously does not connect with you, and that is okay. You shouldn't take up any more of your time or energy thinking about this routine. Move on to something that does connect with you. All I can say is that my customers are happy, they have found more value to my product than just the actual Steel Ball Routine, some of them are using the routine with great success, and that is my number once concern when it comes to this product, my business in general, and my customers. I wish you nothing but health, happiness, and success! Lou Serrano |

That's the thing. It DOES appeal to me. Very much in fact. However, I have learned that what is read is not always what the buyer ends up with. Quote:
I agree that all magic is not for all people. You're not talking to some kid here with Danny Garcia and Wayne Houchin posters on his wall screwing around with his black tiger decks...I've been doing magic now for almost 30 years. How can one figure out whether a routine connects with them until they have SEEN IT? Are you serious????? Under this logic, someone could walk into a New Car Dealership and say I want to buy a car but don't know which one to get. So the dealer shows them a picture of a red car, and gives all the specs to the potential buyer. The buyer then says I want to test drive it first to which the dealer says "no I'm sorry...you cannot test drive it...you either buy it or you don't. If the card doesn't "connect" with you from the picture then maybe this isn't the car for you. I have many customers who have all purchased cars from me in the past and they are all very happy with their new car. Lou...seriously...from one pro to another...can you see what is WRONG with your logic here? You can dress up a lemon to look like gold with fancy words, some special effect transitions, and some quotes from big names in magic all you want...but in my opinion, the consumer is going to want to see a test drive before they commit. It's your product, it's your decesion. Nothing I say will matter to you nor sway you one way or the other. But my money stays in my wallet until I see a demo performance. It doesn't even have to be LIVE! in front of people. Just a performance.

Here's the deal...
I have much respect for you Lou and your talents. I'm a big fan! Don't mistake that with my post. I'm sure this routine is a great routine...MAYBE??? But who in their right mind should shell out money for a trick sight unseen based on a written description by the author of the effect. To your credit, you do offer a money back guarentee if I'm not satisified, but that's a lot of trouble to have to go thru to buy it, learn the proper mechanics of it, script it, routine it, and perform it just to find out that it's not what I was hoping for and then hope I can do all of that before the time expires on the return policy. I'm not one of those people who buys a trick and it's tossed into the act within a few weeks. Everything I do is well rehearsed, staged, blocked etc. There are certain aspects of my show that I've been working on now for well over 2 years that I still don't think are ready for my show. Everything must be perfect before anyone sees them. I don't like to rush anything... This shroud of secrecy that surrounds this routine just stinks to me. I'm on the fence about this... Christopher

I don't know anyone that gives a money back guarantee on their magic products. Most magic dealers say that you are buying the secret, and once you know the secret there are no refunds. I believe in my product, and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is, so I offer a guarantee. My number one priority is to give the best service possible to my customers. If anyone is unhappy with my product, they can return it for a full refund. I have other products coming out in the near future, and all of my products will be backed up by my 100% Risk Free Better Than Your Money Back Guarantee. My customers satisfaction will be the only thing that will enable me to put out more products. If they're unhappy, this part of my business is gone. It's that simple. If it's too much trouble for you to return the product if you are unhappy with it, then don't purchase it. Just keep in mind that you don't even have that option with most magic dealers. Quote:
This shroud of secrecy that surrounds this routine just stinks to me. I'm on the fence about this... I have so much information on my website, that there isn't a whole lot that is secret. There are a ton of posts on this thread, so again there isn't a whole lot of secrecy going on. The only thing that is secret is the methodology. If you want to know the methods, then you have to purchase the product. Listen Christopher, you seem like an intelligent person. If you don't want to purchase this product for the reasons you posted above. That's okay with me. Honestly, I don't have a problem with that and I don't have a problem with anyone that shares your sentiments. Keep your money in your wallet or spend it elsewhere where you know you have a sure thing. I've spent thousands of dollars on products that I've never used and no one has ever offered to refund my money. But I don't have a problem with that. I'm not upset with anyone. I'm happy in my own skin. I run my business with honesty and integrity. I realize I can't make everyone happy, so I don't try to. I run my business and my life the best way I see fit. Everyone else should do the same. One last thing... I don't mean to monopolize the thread here. Since I started posting on the Magic Café, I have supported the Café by buying a banner ad. I try to post comments in other threads that I hope are useful to the other members here. Most people have been supportive of my efforts, and those that don't support me... I'm okay with those people too. I don't take any of it personally. For those that are interested, Click here to visit my website and see what the fuss is all about. To your success! Lou Serrano |

Chris,
This is the way Lou runs his program and it's a good one. Why keep beating a dead horse. You either buy it, see if you like it or not, keep it or send it back. No one is forcing you. Perhaps some day you will see it performed and say, "Wow, should of bought that." You either buy it or not. I and many have bought it and are thrilled with it. Keep in mind that this is for close up magic at a table but NOT FOR WALK AROUND or table hopping. It's your decision but please don't berate Lou for how he handles his business. -Ron |

Prior to the internet/you tube/flashy demo era, magic was purchased all the time based on written descriptions, word of mouth and if you were lucky an in store demo. I would say there may in fact be more disappointment in the current video preview era as preview videos often have to be shot or edited somewhat deceptively to avoid tipping the method. Lou might sell more DVDs with a detailed demo or he might have decided that the repeated viewing/dissection and method hypothesizing that surrounds many new tricks was not the way he wanted to go. Nobody is prying the money out of anyone's hands.

Hmmmm... Boy, I could see a nice pewter box with felt lining, that would be classy. That would be a lot thinner than a wooden box.

I just purchased the Three Ball Routine. I fully expect that when I receive a magic routine, honed over 10 years in front of live spectators, it will be polished and a great routine.
Chris, I can't tell you how many times I have purchased magic, after seeing an online video, how disappointed I was. It looked great. After receiving the magic, I found it was not easy to set up in front of people, impossible to clean up at the end and it was obvious that the "inventor" had not performed this under real world conditions. Chris, I have seen some of the closeup work that you do at restaurants via youtube videos. It is obvious that you take your magic seriously. Excellent job! This would seem like the exact type of routine that would fit your style perfectly. I have not received this package yet, but, I do not know any other magic dealer willing to return your money for your purchase if you are not happy with it. And you have a year to decide! I will give you my unbiased opinion when I receive this and able to review its contents. I have been involved in magic for over 10 years, performing at restaurants and doing palor / stage shows for over 5 years and have been a Past President of a local SAM Assembly. And No, I do not know Lou Serrano. Fact is, I had never heard of Lou before. |

Before I had Internet access, I bought most magic products from mail-order catalogs. More times than not, very short descriptions with deceptive sketches equals buyer's remorse. Mr. Serrano gives a lengthy description, a demo featuring clips from the routine, several testimonials from well-known and respected people within the field, and a money-back guarantee! Yet, we're not all satisfied? Sheesh, when did we become so entitled? All the information about the routine has been given, short of posting the methodology on the Web site.
I'm not "Mr. Moneybags," by any means, and am very frugal with my purchases. However, I'm sure I'll purchase this in the future and have no doubt that I will be happy.

Michel... I'm sure you'll be happy.
I'd almost be willing to bet that all, if not most, people that bought this effect DID NOT see how it was done the first time they watched the performance on the DVD. I "thought" I caught one the ball vanishes on the 2nd or 3rd time I watched it but was thrown off by the follow up. It took watching the explanation to see what he did. Even when you know, the vanish cannot be seen. It a winner. This is why I joined his affiliate group. I'm proud to be part of Lou's program. -Ron |

To All,
I promised a review of this routine when I received it. At least my opinion of whether or not this is worth the money. I ordered this on June 14th. I have just received it today. That means that the time between putting in the order and receiving the merchandise was 3 DAYS! I would call that excellent service. Although I quickly glanced through the DVD, I will withhold my opinions and review until I can evaluate this more closely. Unfortunately, I need to practice for an upcoming Magic Banquet. It will be at least a week before I am able to respond with enough information to make this fair and informed. This will also include taking props in hand to get a feel for how good this can be. It is not my intention to pique your curiosity about my review but to let you know how quickly the package got to me. I have never reviewed a magic product before so I hope that I do this review justice. Also understand that I will not be tipping any routine secrets or modus operandi. |

The companion DVD to The Steel Ball Routine has finally been edited and will go to the manufacturer on Monday. At that time I will make a special announcement here on the Café. If you've been on the fence about getting this routine, you won't want to miss the special deal I have in store.
Respectfully, Lou Serrano |
