I made the boxes like those in the DVD. I made the base and top each in one piece. Cut the box with the bottom and sides in one piece. Cut the 4 corners out, score the break line and fold up. Tape the corners.
I found that shelving paper works great to cover the box. It has the graph lines on the back and is self adhesive. I found solid red at the 99 cent store and they had all kinds of patterns too. The boxes came out beautiful. My wife could not believe I made them. lol Making them wasn't that hard. -Ron |

Hi Ron,
Agree on the boxes. As soon as you have the materials, its a small fun piece of work to make the boxes. I used the shelvin paper as well - works like a dream and give the box more stability. Black ink (Sharpie)on the inside, it fits the chrome balls very nice. Jan |

The full page Magic Magazine advertisement for the Steel Ball Routine came out today. It's in the June issue of Magic and you can find it on the inside back cover. Check it out.
I want to thank everybody that gave me feedback on the routine and the product itself, because it forced me to improve the product, the offer, and the routine before I launched my massive advertising campaign. All the feedback, whether it was good or bad, helped me create something truly unique. a product that I am proud to offer to the entire magic community, and a routine that once mastered you will actually use to great affect. Keep the comments coming, because my commitment to you is to provide you with the best customer service possible, and to help you get the most out of this routine and magic in general. Thanks for reading. Respectfully, Lou Serrano |

Just one thing, Lou, were you planning on posting a video of your routine on the website? I thought I read somewhere that you were going to, but I could be mistaken. I just know that being able to actually see the routine instead of just reading what it's supposed to be will help me personally a lot more in deciding to get this in the future.

The plan is to shoot a promo video next week and get it up as soon as possible. One thing to keep in mind is that the promo video will not have the entire routine, but it will give you a feel for what the routine is all about.

It makes one think of the days (not long ago at all) when all tricks were simply sold by a description of the effect. That is unless of course one was fortunate to have seen it performed in person. In all honesty I think video's/demo's should be considered as a bonus and not a prerequisite albeit now days we simply take them for granted. I think we've all gotten a tad spoiled. Yes, including yours truly!

Well I thought the description was interesting enough to try it, especially with a one year money back guarantee. This effect is a real BIG TIME butt kicker!!! I have now made it a key part of my act. I watched, learned and practiced this then tried it on my wife. She who is excellent for my humility. She lets me know every teeny tiny thing that may be even close to being wrong with my magic. She sat thru the whole routine, stared at me, and said "DA** That was really good!" She's never said that before, it is the highest compliment she will give.
Was this worth the money he's asking, no. it is worth a LOT MORE than what he asks for this routine. I will guarantee you'll be more than happy with this routine. Peter |

LOL! Print ads have always been an exercise in creative writing. Often they skate on the edge of honesty. They are more about teasing you than giving you any real useful information.
With good video editing the video "demo" ad of today is simply more of the same. Some dealers show you exactly what you get. Others show you a montage of reactions and bits and pieces of the effect. You know it has always been buyer beware in magic. In the case of this product it is described well, its limitations have been noted honestly, and informed magicians (whose word one can trust) have sung its praises. I suspect that a good direct video may help sales but is really for those who have no intention of buying and just want to see what they are missing. But then I could be wrong.

Harry, I think you have it right. People just want to see it performed, not really intested in buying it. With the "no questions asked" ONE YEAR guarantee, that alone should vouch for the truth in the ad. I will admit, the print ad does not begin to describe the real effect of this routine. Yes some effects just won't work with certain personalities, but this one WILL work for YOU!! Take a little while to work out your patter, or just borrow from Lou's patter, Take 3 balls out of a box and set it on the table in plain sight. Make those 3 balls disappear and with a flash of light (or a snap of the finger) the balls are right back in the box that you took them out of.
I've already performed this and the worst response I got was to book 2 shows after the people saw this one effect |

Ok, let me explain why I personally want to see the routine before purchasing.
The primary reason is that my building ANYTHING skills are next to zero, and this routine requires building some gimmicks you have to make yourself. Now I don't want to buy this, and discover that that the gimmicks will be a waste of time to build either because it fits my style more to not have them, or because I simply don't have the skills to build them without a lot of time and difficultly that I could use somewhere else. Now if all nesissary gimmicks came with the package, then it would be a lot simpler desision for me. But another reason I'd like to see a demo first is because $100 is a lot of money for me (I'm only 15), and I want to make sure this is something I could use in my act before I purchase it. Yes, I know there is the one year guarantee, but like I said, $100 is alot, and if it turns out that I want to return everything, that will be 100 bucks I'll have been without for however long it would take me to determine that it's not for me that I could have used elsewhere. I hope you now see where I, and just maybe some others, are coming from when we say we would like to see a demo first. JIMC64

No, JimC, I don't see where you are coming from. I will tell you this, if you can cut with a scissors, you can build the gimmicks. that simple. Now as to the other thin you bring up. Lou advertises that this is NOT for the beginner magi. It is for the intermediate performer. Given that statement and your age I see no dificulty in making your decision. If you are a novice, then the answer is NO. Sorry about your luck because this effect is a reputation maker.

Jim... I believe that seeing the video will not make a difference for your requirement. The effect is worth it, just read the review of the trick and see if THIS particular routine fits what you do. It's a powerful and strong routine and seeing the video will not give you any idea of what the 'gimmick' is.
The $100.00 issue is a different matter. Only you can determine if you want to spend that kind of money on one effect. I imgine it will depend on where and what kind of show you will be doing it in. It's not for walk around, table hopping, steet magic or the like. It's for close up and parlor magic shows. I hope this helps. -Ron |

It's just that I've been told about several tricks that can be made at home, and then when I went ahead and tried, well... let's just say I would have rather bought the trick, so anytime I hear that something can be made at home, I always get skeptical as to what "building stuff" skill level that person had when they made (trick/gimmick) at home. However, I must take slight (but forgivable ) offence at assuming that just because of my age, I am a "begginer." I actually have quite a bit of experience in slieght of hand, and seem to be able to aquire a passable level of skill quite quickly. And Lou said that the sleights required are EASILY within grasp of the intermediate magician, so even if I am only a begginer, I have full confidence that I could learn them with a little practice. Oh, and I hope you don't misunderstand my "tone" here, I am not attempting to "snap" back at you, just explain my position on the matter.

I don't have the trick albeit I'm very confident that it's a killer effect. A bit of arthritis in my hand leaves me out with the finger dexterity that I'm sure is called for. However, to address Jim's question/concern I'm sure that Lou left out the necessary gimmicks for the very simple reason that they are indeed very easy to make and it would have been a waste for him to include them. Secondly, as one other suggested is that a demo video of course would not include nor show the gimmicks.
I'm sure that at age fifteen it should have no bearing on your abilities as to handling this trick in any way. However I can't for the life of me understand where time constraints could be of any concern at your age in making something that in all likelihood takes but a few minutes or more! Ya knocked me over with that one! ~gaffed~

Ok, I understand that the demo obviously would not show the gimmicks, but that was not my point. My point was, by seeing the routine, it would allow me to decide if it would be worth the effort to try to go against my natural lack of building skills to construct the gimmicks. It would kinda be like trying to learn the Muscle Pass without ever having seen The Coin That Falls Up. It took a lot of time and practice for me to learn it, but because I had SEEN it happen before, and not just read what happens, I was motivated to want to learn it, and therefore was more willing to put a lot of time, effort, ect. into it.
And again, due to 1 or 2 previous experiences, I automatically begin to think that "something you can make at home" really means something more like "something you can waste a lot of time and effort on making at home instead of purchasing the product for better quality from such-and-such store." But then again, why does it matter, cause we're suppose to get a demo, anyway?

Okay, I'll make it simple. Jim, do you wear a coat or blazer???
And gaffed, I believe you can still do this routine unless the arthritis you have is crippling because the slights are quite easy. To me, it's simpler than a thumb palm. The routine just requires smoothness in it's presentation more than slight of hand. That's where the practice will be needed. -Ron |
