Haha. 2012multimagic- well that shut me up! I was just gonna chip in and say that I've kinda regressed with t&r card, and have gone back to Paul Harris 'ultimate ripoff', and a routine by karrell fox. The expression 'so old it's new again' comes to mind. But I just clicked your video link! Ok, I've been doing card magic heavily for 20 years, so get the jist of most methods, but I purposely ain't gonna think about your handling.im just gonna enjoy what I saw, remain slightly puzzled, ( the point where you showed the face of the 3/4 card threw me off the trail totally!)
And say well done! Great stuff man!

See

and buy The Magic of Paul Le Paul.
Its an old book, so ignored by many; but this performance should convince you of its value,

well it depends , first do you like a piece by piece or flash restoration
or you want dupes, or just one card used ....
can you work surrounded or do you have to stand back 10 feet??/
there is only TWO effects THAT CAN DO THIS that I am aware of
1 NO DUPES
2 NO GAFFS
3 CARD CAN BE EXAMENED AND SIGHNED FRONT OR BACK
4 ONLY ONE CARD USED FROM ANY DECK THAT IS SELECTED BY THE AUDIENCE
5 flash restoration at the end

Hoodwink and my warped and restored

looks like Torn by Daniel Garcia with some minor handling changes.

her performance was very good though.

torn looks a lot better when you restore a face card as opposed to always having the back of the card face the audience.

Actually, the handling changes aren't minor... but it's still pretty similar to Garcia's Torn

I really like Wayne Houchin's "Counterfeit Hollingworth." Still getting it down to performance level, but I've been most pleased with it.

I also like Garcia's "Torn" and "Torn Too." I don't find the angles too difficult to handle. But Wayne's is definitely my favorite!

It's been two-and-a-half years since the last post on this thread, so I thought I'd give it a bump and see if there's anything new that should be part of this discussion. What say ye?

Try doing Card Warp, put the pieces away while holding back one necessary piece, then do JC Wagner's Torn and Restored.

I'm relearning J.C. Wagner' version. Also planning on working on Brent Braun's Torched and Restored as well as Daniel Garcia's Torn. I think that should give me a pretty good bit of variety to chose from.

Can anyone tell me how Reformation compares to these? To my knowledge, I've never seen it!

I prefer a T & R card that:

1. Can be done with a signed card. The T & R can then be performed after a signed card location effect with that card.

2. Uses no gaffs that require wringing in.

3. Uses only one card and no extra duplicates or pieces.

The Ultimate Rip Off by Paul Harris is the only T & R card effect that approximates my criteria.

I like your criteria Leo H, especially for impromptu performing. Not sure Torn and Restored would be something I have considered for Impromptu bits, but I'll revisit the Ultimate Rip Off after your logical thoughts! Thanks for your input!

Thanks Leo -- your post made me pull out my copy of "The Art of Astonishment," and now I have something new to work on.
