http://www.ellusionist.com/bison-bend-by-branden-wolf.html
I bought this just now, and had a few credits there it turns out...so this was a real bargain... ...to be honest, I'm surprised with it - I'm not great with coins, in fact apart from reading Bobo twice and giving a few things a go, that's about it...i can get by with the basics...so I was kinda dreading this in a way... thankfully - I was relieved and happy! that sounded wrong and smutty...sorry... anyway - this is good...he credits eric ross for a couple of minor similarities to his work... its a 15 min vid of two bends, bison 1 is two handed, bison 2 is one handed...both require a tiny bit of digit based dexterity...nothing major though...i watched it, smiled, and thought "ok, I don't have to panic or struggle learning this...". there's also a five minute bit where branden talks about how to bend a coin, and what makes a good and bad coin bend...i'm glad he prefers a subtle bend, because that's how I bend my coins...and I don't have mine signed either because their coin never leaves their sight...so why bother, eh? its not a trick... the first bend is briefly taught - and that's all it needs - very straight forward and nice and visual too...bison 2 is a little more involved and technical, but not too much, this is a one handed bend where the punter can place their coin on your outstretched hand...you slowly close your hand around it and then as you gently wave the coin and you see it bend more and more... and that's it! nine dollars, so about a fiver in my uk money... I have before this, just stuck with something from bobo to do it one handed...but I shall definitely be practicing these two bends as they look like they will suit me down to the ground...8.5/10 as I say, I can't really compare it to any other work, purely because I don't own any of it... EDIT - I should also add, Brandon seems to be a nice, unassuming guy - has an air of modesty about him which was good to see...apparently he's got other work in the pipeline...

Thanks for the heads up, this looks really nice/clean. I like the reveal of the bend in the first method, very simple but effective.

Am I over thinking this like a magician that the setup in the demo is too jarring or quick so it looks suspicious right before the nice slow bend ?

I would say your over thinking, the way I use to do this years ago was much uglier than this and I never got caught. The key is to not tell them what your about to do before you go into the effect. This way there's nothing to look for as in their mind, there's nothing happening yet.

Hmmm. I'm assuming the "work" of the video would deal with the get ready and the ditch both of which seem to be the most problematic areas of the moves.

The ditching is the same as any other non-gimmicked bend...
the get readys are fine (for me, at least)...but not the hold steady, don't like that band...

I know Branden quite well and he showed me this months ago...it's a beautiful thing and I definitely use it.

If we say that the ultimate in coin bending is that someone takes a coin out, places it in their open hand and slowly it bends out in the open...
after that, its compromise... which is a personal line/view to take...so, then it boils down to which lines you are comfortable redrawing... some like the coin signed, I don't... some like producing two hands worth of loose change, I don't... I like straight arrow kind of thinking...so for me, you take their coin, a clean open pair of hands and the bend happens...that suits me, that's why I like my standard method, and I also like this...so I'll spend some time learning it and testing it out... that's about it... I like this...

I use to be a coin man years ago and I saw everything that was happening on the very frist watch of the video. I don't see anything new here that hasn't been done before.
It does look nice. Best Ray |
