Ran Pink's Palm Prophet has been a very useful tool for me over the past several months.
Ran presents a great impromptu utility item that is completely prop-less, and explains 5 great routines using the principle. The effects are all hands off (pun intended) and have the added bonus of being able to be done over the phone or video chat. My favorite use for this is Ran's "Life Concerns" which is a palmistry routine in which you are able to covertly ascertain the areas of greatest concern for your participant. The premise is expanded by allowing you to do it over the phone...remote palm reading?? Yes! You heard that right! The premise alone is is cause for excitement. The other four effects are all solid routines that you can add to your arsenal and be ready to perform at a minutes notice with no props. For $4 per effect you cannot pass on this one! The thinking alone is worth the price of admission. You can get it here: http://www.worldwidemagic.com/#!palmprophet/c1x53 |

Thanks for the head's up, Paul.
I'm a huge fan of Ran's work, style and thinking and I'll be checking this one out today! "Palm Prophet" sounds great (though I admit to being a little "confused" about a utility *item* that's propless and can be used long distance), but for just $20.00 and Ran's incredible thinking, a multi-use tool and principle and 5 unique applications/associated routines to go with it, this sounds like another instant winner from RP and a no-brainer for me!!! J. P.S. I absolutely SLAYED a large group of people last night during an impromptu performance with your "Lexicology" card. I almost forgot how much I freakin' love this thing...personally I consider it to be the equivalent of a strong book test and/or drawing duplication that fits in your wallet (at least as far as reactions, end results and the desired audience response goes!) and is always ready to go. Using it with 2 people and combining a simple ESP symbol warm up to get into my "Thought Channel" routine (with the "Lexicology" card becoming the hidden object) and then ending not with "which hand" as usual but using the direct revelations made possible with "Lex" instead is far beyond fun and packs an enormous punch!

My pleasure!
I should clarify...when I say "utility item" I just mean the simple method, which you can use anytime; there are no props. I should have also mentioned that Ran is a good friend, but my thoughts on this would be the same if he were a stranger (indeed, he is STRANGE...but not a stranger) Thanks for the feedback on Lexicology Jerome! I'm thrilled to hear that you are using it! It is definitely one of my favorite wallet cards. I like the way you combined it with the other effects. The card is just like a mini book-test, and perfect for reading the minds of 1 to 4 people (shameless plug!). I hope that clarifies the "utility item" that I mentioned...and thanks again! |

Thanks, Paul. I absolutely LOVE Ran's T-Rex book and DVD set, so will have to invest in Palm Prophet next.

Disregard my previous post.
I thought you were saying the lex card was a "hidden object", as in it was used for pre show. I assume you mean it is the hidden object instead of a coin for thought channel. Matthew |

Palm Prophet is a really fun concept to play with that lends itself to many possible applications. Now if I can just finish getting it adapted to Japanese.

Im still not clear on this. Luke Jermay has a brilliant routine ($1000 Palmistry). I'm wondering if this is similar in concept.
