Of course none of those magicians really used thread or wires. It was all done with the mirrors that were up their sleeves. If they can't detect it then most of them are doing a great job. There are skeptics everywhere and ones that just want to believe that it is all of the devil. It is harmless and fun magic not some satanic black magic. These people will never go away so we as Christians must prepare ourselves to always be ready with the gospel. Ignorance is just that, Ignorance. Sorry my 2 cents there.

It is people like this who give Christians a bad name in the world. Because of videos like this people think all Christians are ignorant, gullible, superstitious people.
Reality is a real killjoy.

The only way to guarantee to not cause anyone to stumble or fall in their faith is to not be the cause of it. It is not our spectator's responsibility to be informed about how we make the magic happen. It is our responsibility to make sure that what we say and do does not cause one of our brothers and sisters to stumble. I completely disagree in applying this to a magical entertainment presentation. Especially one that has been ordered, scheduled, paid for, and anticipated as they might an evening at a play or a movie. Romans 14 is talking about putting legalistic requirements onto new and naive believers, thereby causing them to stumble. It is talking about removing liberty given by Christ in favor of requirements not given by Christ. There are still "lost tribes" where your cell phone or even a ball point pen would be a wonder and even sorcery. So because someone somewhere just might possibly through ignorance attribute demonic presence to my pen, phone, or thumb tip, I am not allowed to "go there"? I think that's a rediculous stretch to make. If you make presentations in front of a church audience that you are not familiar with and they do not know or trust you, then I do see that it is incumbent on you to make sure their shepherd is good with what you will do. After that, the responsibility is on his shoulders, not yours. Common ignorance, though, mixed with superstition has forged too many chains around otherwise good Christian people. I will answer their questions, and may even expose a gaff in an extreme case because a soul is worth more that a TT. But I will not wear their chains. If the Spirit expressly leads you in a more conservative direction, then you'd better obey. But to throw that upon all of us as a wet blanket of restrictive guideance does not appear Biblical. Ed |

The maker of those films is very gullible. Seeing most of the magic in them I know what is really going on and even before I did never thought it was supernatural. People like these that make these movies are bearing false witness with their libel. It really is sad that they stoop to this and do so in calling them devilish.
Magic speaks to the child in all of us. No matter how sophisticated we become, there's still a part of us who wants to believe in an alternative reality, where we can defy the laws of nature.

I like the way they are playing ominous war drum type music while he is doing an i.t. effect with a ball of tissue dancing on his arms to make it seem very DANGEROUS and OMINOUS! Give me a break! LMBO!!

Oh, and as far as the shattering pitcher effect, I believe soon after that episode of AGT aired, for a few hundred bucks, at Hocus Pocus, if memory serves, anybody willing to plunk down the cash could purchase "Dezmond".

Spend a little time googling this YouTube and you will find all kinds of forums alive with discussion, with many Christians and others agreeing with the YouTube and the idea of demons causing magic tricks. Consider this article written for the Christian Post by a pastor:
http://www.christianpost.com/news/the-il......s-99458/ Maybe something gospel magicians could do would be to teach pastors and priests etc that this stuff is just trickery. I also think that such religious leaders should be wise to mentalism techniques, cold reading and the such so as to spot the 'fakers'. I would put 13 steps on seminary reading lists ... |

Have fun trying. Some denominations consider trickery evil, because it's DECEPTION.

Ha ha! Mine have healed. I no longer perform for the "religious". Too much of this crap going on. What's the difference between a fish and a Jehovah's Witness?
