Does anyone else carry some magic supplies with them wherever they go? I certainly do. At any given time, I carry one normal Bicycle deck, one bridge sized Bicycle (I have small hands), and one extra-large coin that's good for coin magic. You guys?

I normally just carry around a red phoenix deck in a porper deck wrapped with 4 blue rubber bands, coin purse with 4 seated liberty coins and Digital Dissolve, and my Exact Change gimmick that houses silver quarters and dimes, and copper pennies.
Current things to work on: Everything loops, Pinky count, Coins coins coins...

Standard phoenix deck, marked phoenix deck, a couple of loops and stand up monte - with phoenix backs for consistency. There's a whole evenings worth of entertainment right there.

Sorry guys, I don't do cards (much). In my wallet, I carry The Amazing Jumping Arrow (Hot Rod) and Paul Harris'/Lubor Fielder's Reality Twister (Or Lubor Lens). That's for on-the-spot stuff. If I know I'm going to a bar, or people are drinking beer, I carry my necessary for Prohibition.
I don't take out my "toys" any more. I find more than three is less effective. Coins are good. If I have my Ike Dollar and Sudbury Penny, I can do a short routine that ends with Spellbound. I get too tempted though, to bring my expanded [ and four Ikes, and do Coins Through The Table. It's too easy to go on too long. Today, you wanna be in and out. Done. If they beg you, do ONE more. Make it a GOOD one. I find it is then time to leave. I find it best to leave when their mouth is hanging open. Speechless. They just look at each other. Doug |

OK, today I went the Food Bank. I took with me a regular Hot Rod, and a green plastic thimble. There were 20 people. It was very refreshing. I did Flipstick with a pencil first. That broke the ice. The rest just fell into place. I don't do this very often. I just wanted to see...yeah. You don't need a lot of props!

I you do a search on this type of thing your see I use to carry lots of stuff years go. like decks of cards, sponge balls, rope and other stuff. I even had a little box of stuff.
Now in my wallet 3 card trick, 4 Old English pennies and a few elastic bands. It good to freshly revisit this topic as I now carry less but seem to perform more. if I am meeting pepole I know I do take a little extra.
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well! |

I've got it down to a half dollar these days. I hope I get good enough to ditch that.

Usually just a quarter. I feel funny carrying props. I like to have a deck of cards pen and paper nearby if possible. Just don't like the feeling of taking something out of my pocket to do something. I'll usually just do prop free effects when Im out and about.

My keyring with Ignition on it, plus another keyring for Greg Wilson's Florida Keys. I never do more than one or two quick hitters, but I like to have the variety for when I see some of the same people. Jim |

A piece of rope, a 5" ring, a knife, a deck of cards, occasionally a billiard ball, 5 half dollars, 3 sponge balls, all the clubs are in my wallet, a loop on my wrist, a flag of a rabbit is tucked into my hat, 10 business cards-one of which has a force written on the back, a sharpie... Oh, and of course a magic wand.
All of this fits into a belt-loop camera case. |

Sometimes a deck of cards, whatever change I have in my pocket, and *maybe* my wallet if I was working the night before and didn't move my stuff back to my "day to day" wallet, and sometimes I have stray buttons or rubber bands or odd little bits of paper in my pockets, and of course I always wear a watch and a ring that I can do things with. I like to always be ready to do something, but I don't like to carry my stuff with me, either. I know how to do some things with "regular" stuff so I don't need to. I don't want to carry my magic everywhere I go any more than I want to bring my other work everywhere I go.
