Has anyone ever tried roughing plastic cards? If you have, do they last as long as roughed paper cards? Thanks for your help.

Plastic coated or the "solid" plastic ones that were available--may still be--several years ago? I've never tried to coat either, but others might need the clarification. If you can get the r&S spray to stick it should still work. Try the spray H2O proofing and see if that stays put.

My pleasure Zack.
My curiosity with the solid plastic cards that I had--may still have--was that they had transparent sections the could be seen when part of a double. make sure you let us know how your experiments turn out.

Ive never tried with plastic cards but my fascination with them was like the above poster using a DT with them being clear in the center made for a really awesome effect.

I have a deck of clear plastic cards that are about a decade old that were sold for use by the pool. I think they are bridge size and have a compass design on the back. They are completely transparent except in the center where the ink makes them opaque, they put the name of the card and the suite, and in the index marks. All of the regular piques are gone. They get cloudier the more you use them. I don't know about roughing. They do work extremely well for SPRINGING THE CARDS using Mark Wilson's technique. Very smooth and jump much further than a regular deck.
