Thank you everyone for your input. I will be using Inav remote with OneTrack app. So far it's pretty easy to use. No issues yet with either the app or remote. Will report back after this Saturday.

Mike,
Awesome. Don't forget to always turn off Wifi, Bluetooth and put your device on Airplane mode. Most importantly REBOOT to clear your memory..

I know I'm a bit late (as always) to comment on this post but I have a number of users successfully using the Airturn BT-105 pedal board on stage (in some cases I know of they are performing in front of thousands). I don't as yet know of any magicians using the Airturn but it is a very solid, reliable and quiet pedal board which could probably be quite well hidden. Perhaps Hugh Sung at Airturn might be approached to develop an on the floor, flat (and invisible) device for triggering. They have developed the Airturn Tap for drummers which takes a light tap with a finger or drumstick to change tracks etc. OneTrack does work extensively with Airturn devices offering far more flexibility than the iJet Nav. And I think the reliability of their devices is proven by their customer list. Obviously one of their pedal boards is more expensive than the iJet Nav but you are still talking only $115 for a two pedal device. Going by how many of my users are magicians, I'd say there is a huge market opportunity for Airturn to develop something for your industry but it would need a bit of noise to get his attention as he's a busy man. Try emailing him at hugh@airturn.com and if enough of you are calling for the same thing he may well move in that direction.
And thanks, Mike, for purchasing OneTrack. I hope it's living up to your expectations. |

I'll now have to buy a new remote system to replace the perfectly functional and trusted remote system that I've used for ages. Or just not use One Track in favour of something else that works with my dock/remote.

I use the ijet remote through my pocket and it works perfectly.
I'm thrilled with onetrackapp and the fact that it works with a $40 remote... especially since it replaced my $1,400 system!

I don't have a universal dock anymore to test this but would have thought it emulates the standard remote controls on the Apple earbuds which is what the iJet does. If this is the case then OneTrack should work with it. You say you have an iPhone dock and remote, does this combination work with Apple's Music app? |

@aheads
IR remotes require you to point the remote to the receiver, your range is about 10-20ft. RF remote such as the Ijet, the range is about 150ft and the remote can be in your pocket. Think more reliable. I personally don't know of an App that uses your IR dock. The problem is that if you find an app it might not be designed to control your show. Meaning, no autopause, fade out, cue next song, custom fade times, etc. Play with OneTrack manually with button presses and you will fall in love with it. I am positive that you will consider an Ijet. PM me and I'll tell you which one to get.

The reason I'm using it is that the remote is concealed in an item I use in my show and is always in line of sight wot the receiver at a rande of about 6 feet. So far, I've been creating my own show music and cues with audacity but I might make the jump to ijet. I had a look at their site and I can't see a dock which fits the Iphone 5 - is there one?

By the way, I was going to glue a bead to the ijet remote so that I could feel it through my pocket.
However, the way the remote is designed, I can easily feel the center raised button, which is "play/pause." From there, I can easily go to any of the other 4 buttons. (forward, back, volume up, and volume down) I keep the remote in a horizontal position at the base of my pocket, so it doesn't move around. The audience doesn't notice my remote cues, as I normally lean forward or make some kind of larger body movement which naturally brings my left fingertips to the outside of the pocket. It's like the principle we all know in magic: the larger motion hides the smaller motion.

The Ijet sold by ShowCues for $60 has a magnetic reed switch. You can place it in your pocket and trigger it with a magnetic ring or you can make a ankle holder using some creativity.

I made the step to iJet and received it yesterday. I'm using it with an Iphone 5 (with lightning adapter) and One Track Mind and I'm having issues.
The combination of iJet and One Track will not wotk in Airplane mode. The app cannot be controlled with the remote and the app crashes occasionally. In normal mode, I can start the playlist, pause and skip to track 2 but if I pause again or skip again then the phone or app selects a track at random from ALL of the music of my phone. Any suggestions?

Hold on guys...
Should I be using OneTrack: https://itunes.apple.com/se/app/onetrack......868?mt=8 or One Track Mind: https://itunes.apple.com/se/app/one-trac......487?mt=8 I'm using the latter but suspect that I should have bene using the first.

You should be using OneTrack (not One Track Mind) for your music. Also, it is very important to follow these steps when using OneTrack:
1.) Connect the dock (receiver) and adapter to the iPhone 2.) Wait approximately 30 seconds before connecting the audio cable to the iPhone 3.) Launch OneTrack and select your playlist. 4.) Select the first track so it is ready to play 5.) Press the play button in the app manually (not using the remote) to start the first song. This is really important. If you do not start the first track this way (instead you use the remote first), the iPhone's built-in music player will be activated rather than OneTrack. By manually starting the first song by pushing the play button on the screen, it tells the iPhone to use the app. (This is in one of Sean's instruction videos found here: http://seanbergin.com/OneTrack/OneTrack.html?2054c820 ) |

Right then. I've downloaded OneTrack and it works perfectly with the iJet Nav. Just what I wanted so all happy smiles here.
The only outstanding issue is how to get it to work with a Bluetooth speaker. So far I can't get it to work. It's no big deal because the speaker has a manual audio input as well but I wonder if there is a way to get it to work. I'm using an Iphone 5.

Hi Anthony, Sean Bergin here the developer of OneTrack, I thought I'd post the answer here as well as answering you direct by email. The iJet Nav will not work alongside a BlueTooth speaker with OneTrack (and neither will it with Apple's Music App). If you need a wireless remote that works while connected to a BlueTooth speaker I can recommend the Airturn Digit II ($39) which is a small handheld remote similiar to the iJet Nav but which is a recent device and uses bluetooth low energy instead of infrared. This has the advantage of needing no adaptor on the phone but has a shorter transmission range. I use an Airturn BlueTooth Pedalboard myself and it is extremely well made and reliable. There is the added advantage that, as the Digit II appears to OneTrack as a similiar device to their pedalboard, you can set the Digit's buttons to any of 14 different settings. I cannot, however, comment on the unobtrusiveness of the Digit II and its usefulness to a magician - I know the iJet Nav shines in this regard.
