This book was the summit of the ECCS Everest for me. Fantastic. Thanks, Prof BC.

I'll do a face to face one at Doomsday! Maybe even a video interview if he'll allow it!

Has the distinct pleasure of seeing BC do this and simply loved it! How wonderful to be a phasmologist! He had us enthralled and gripped.

I doubt I'm the only one checking my mailbox hourly to see if my inscribed copy has arrived yet. So very, very looking forward to this. I wager we'll be discussing the book and her effects/concepts for some time to come!

The postman dropped off Phasmology this afternoon. I haven't been able to put it down until now. After a full read-through, I am... astonished. There was no doubt it'd be good--it is Professor BC, after all. But who would have thought it'd be this good?
The feeling I got reading Phasmology can only be likened to the unique feeling I had some time ago when I picked up a copy of Derren Brown's Absolute Magic. The moment I read it back in 2004, I knew it was a game-changer. It challenged me to take a long, hard look at myself, my motivations for effects, how I was really viewed by spectators vs. the my idealized assumpiton of how I was viewed, my persona, and the importance of engaging story above all else. In short, it changed everything for me as far as "standard" magic was concerned. For me, Phasmology has done all this and more for my approach to bizarre magic. The initial reading only took the night, but I'm certain I'll be re-reading this countless times as I try to digest everything more and truly integrate these concepts/facets into my performance and persona. There is such a wealth of knowledge to mine from the book that I'm not about to type a review or presume to list the various aspects and what I think of them--I've only just made the tiniest of scratches in the surface with my initial read-through. That being said: the book is amazing. We all knew it would be, but... wow. I can't wait to sit with some of my bizarre bretheren and discuss this, share our take-aways, and see what others have built from the foundational blocks provided. Thank you, Professor BC, for pulling back the curtain and sharing so much fo your process, thoughts, and routines/lessons with us. I can't wait to read it again tomorrow. |

My inscribed copy after 2 readings and much back and forth with the Prof. now holds a place of honor among Andruzzi, Burger, Cameron, and Chelman on my shelf. Now I go about the work of practical application of the concepts I saw in action at ECSS. I had never met anyone that I shared as much in common with in regards to performing philosophy. I look forward to future projects from this luminary in our little corner of the performing world.

Can anybody please add some details on this Book?
Is it a Hardcover? Does it have more than one page? All the typical information one gets on books are missing. Maybe it would increase the sales if you add these profane information to the gemini Site as well. |

Hardcover: yes.
More than one page: most assuredly. Increased sales: not interested. This book is not intended for the general magic market, which is why I declined an overture from Stevens Magic to market this title (no disrespect at all to Stevens, which does marvelous work and provides a wonderful service). Phasmology is a full-colour, large-format (not large print) hardbound with dust jacket; 75,000 words over 197 pages; essays on the art of 'bizarre' performance along with routines, scripts, and handlings. Will not be made available in digital format. Available through Gemini Artifacts and Lebanon Circle Magic only. BC

Well, thank you
Now I must save my money and decide if I need to buy Phasmology or the "The Resurrection Cemetery Gate Key" first since I NEED both. ;) |

Phasmology is among the very most important books on 'bizarre" performance ever written.
This book will inform and inspire future generations of dark storytellers. Our community is very fortunate to be instructed by Prof. B.C. Many lessons here and all first class. |

I have no doubt and I want it, but my budget does not allow to buy every thing at once.
I fear that one of the things I want will be unavailable before I can buy it |

And a special note to those attending Doomsday in May, there will (in all probability) be copies of Phasmology available to conference attendees at a special conference discount (as was the case also at ECSS last month), so if you are going to Whitby you might wish to delay your purchase until then.
