Bill Malone does not lecture. He does not like to perform for magicians. Daryl does lecture. Anyway, just wanted to clear the air on that.
Both Daryl and Bill are very good at what they do. Most of you have not seen Bill perform in his setting. Watching him on DVD, or World's Greatest Magic, or even in a session is not how he would perform at a paid gig. He is quite entertaining, funny, witty, and very good at sleight-of-hand. Daryl is equally as good, although his performing style is different. There really should not be a comparison between the two. Best, Trini

Thank you. I did not know this about bill malone. "Both Daryl and Bill are very good at what they do. Most of you have not seen Bill perform in his setting. Actually I think he is good performer even on DVD! But yes I think it is obvious that in pro performing show that he does not do everything on DVDs. He can do them but pro performing situation demands more. "Daryl is equally as good, although his performing style is different. There really should not be a comparison between the two." I agree also! I just think maybe I understand why magician compare them. Or maybe think they can compare. |

To me it is a dead tie, as I mentioned. They are both great in different ways.
When I said: "They are both technically outstanding . . . Malone might have a marginal edge." Note the words "might" and "marginal." I think I said this because Malone had intense tutelage under Marlo, who as we know had multiple ways to do multiple things. But this makes no material difference, they are both great. |

Yes. We understand and appreciate the words might and marginal. And we agree it makes no material difference.
Bill Malone is world class- one of the best on earth. Daryl is otherworldly. Both awesome! |

Since the original question was 'who is your favorite' I'd have to say, those who know when to their audience has had enough.
I don't do many card tricks mainly because up to now, they really didn't fit in with what I was doing, and also because there are so many great routines out there, that it not only became too difficult to choose what to spend my time learning. Getting more into it these days though. The favorites that come into my mind, who unfortunately are long gone, are Al Goshman, Frank Garcia, & Del Ray. I considered them pure entertainment. |

The other day I experienced the best close-up magician I have ever witnessed. So I have to add him to my previous list...ohh, it was Ben Earl
