Just came across this story in Alex Stone's "Fooling Houdini" and this looks like a good place to share it. A few years back an American magician with a dove act was stopped at the Canadian border and told he couldn't bring his birds into the country with them. Unfazed, he released the birds and drove into Canada without them. Having crossed the border, he pulled his car to the side of the road, called his flock, and the well-trained birds flew back to him on command. I guess there's no law about birds crossing the border on their own!
It's still magic even if you know how it's done.
