I agree completetely, Slackering.
Also, if they listened to Kierons wishes like he is mentioning above, then there is a lot of misguided opinions on this site and in our community. Including mine. |

Thanks for posting that link Ustaad. I read it with interest. Calling RSVP Magic a 'minor UK based magic company' and Russ Steven a 't**'t is really not on. In the old days dealers used to respect each other. Some of my best friends were fellow dealers. Nowadays it seems young guns like Lloyd Barnes can say whatever they want without consequence. It is a sad state of affairs, really it is.
Compare that to Kieron's very respectful reply a few posts above. He is a gentleman and I wish him all the best. It's just a shame he got tangled up with this company. |

Hello Everyone,
Ustaad, thank you for posting that link. That's not me being sarcastic by the way, I genuinely thank you. I haven't read it and I won't. Because I don't need to. Thank you Lloyd Barnes for posting that, I really do thank you, because you've just shown what the problem is today within our community. Please everyone read what this guy has written (I can only imagine) and see just why I have the problem that I do with people like this. I'm surprised that someone like Brad Christian employs people like Lloyd Barnes and Garant Clarke and it saddens me that he does. I get it though, I really do. I get that here in the UK we have an incredible wealth of talent that create and produce some incredible magic for the community worldwide, so why not get some UK based guys go and hunt them out for future projects under The Ellusionist banner? The only problem is that others have been there way before you and committed time and considerable money bringing their projects to the marketplace. Despite knowing that, nearly everything on "Elements" is already featured on rsvpmagic releases "To the Max", "Chaotic" and "Too Hot to Handle", but you release them anyway. I have one really great friend that works within this company that knows me very, very well and I'd imagine he'll be cringing at whats going on here within this company and the position that he's now in. You see our world really is that small isn't it? That's why as consumers, you can make a difference and stand and do something about these types of people within our world. Don't let them get away with this kind of behaviour please, because ultimately that's what this is actually about. Anyone that knows my current situation, will know that I genuinely am not doing this for the money or recognition. Kieron was a friend and is genuinely loved by many and I know my Facebook post will have alienated many towards me and my company, but this is just plain wrong on all sides and something had to be said. I know what we agreed and what I paid him for his work and that I own those projects. Whatever my issue is with Kieron Johnson, I've paid him fees and spent considerable time and money to bring these to the worldwide community and they have certainly played a large part in creating the name that Kieron now has within our small world. Lloyd and Gerant never even bothered to check things from my side first, although if you had, you've made it clear that you have no respect either way and would have gone ahead anyway. Yes, you have that contract don't you? Congratulations. You win. Or do you? So cutting to the chase, I'm not after money and I certainly don't want to spend my time here fighting battles with people that deserve none of it. I have better things to do with my time. I just needed everyone to know about a situation that I had with Kieron (who refused to talk to me about this and passed everything onto 'G' Gerant). I even heard that Gerant said that Kieron was Intimdated by me, which is kind of weird because less than a month ago Kieron bombarded me with calls and texts asking me to manage him and take him onto BGT hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jamie Raven, who I also manage. There was no other avenue, other than to just sit back and let them do this with impunity or do something about it. As anyone that knows me will tell you, that's just not my style. On a business level you may have a contract, but morally and ethically you're wrong. But being the people that you are, that doesn't matter does it? Respect? Gentlemen's agreements? Who cares? Certainly not you. Without reading your post Lloyd, I can bet there's none is there? I'm sure that "Elements" will sell bucketloads, far more than a 'minor UK based magic company' like mine could possibly ever imagine. But. And it is a BIG but. This is your chance to show what you think. Best, Russ |

I loved working with Rsvp and Russ Stevens is a great guy but this is a evolution of my work it not all the same as you can see from the post above. I wish Russ all the best but as stated there no contract and is super busy with Jamie Raven. I have found Lyodd and gerait and e great to work for and I'm fianly makeing some money from my ideas and work. I do think somethin has to change in the uk magic most company's just pay couple of hundred pounds and some DVDs is not worth your entire life work but most magicians arnt money motivated but especially when your has made s lot like mine has in my case. I wish Rsvp all the best and will speak to Lyodd to get the post taken down.
As always if I can help me thanks for the support and if I can help with the product I will Kind regards Kieron |

Kieron,
Please let Lloyd leave the post up, as that's my whole point. Someone has already told me that they have screen grabs anyway should I ever want to read it (i don't), so no point deleting really as they'll just get reposted I'd imagine. By the way, everything I've written, I stand by 100% which is why it's still on my FB account. I won't be deleting anything. Best, Russ |

It's taken me a while to contemplate writing this because frankly I wanted to test out fully in my professional repertoire and give an honest opinion.
I am just going to write about Volume 1 for now, Volume 2 is a no brainer for the price and the content. To note, I am Kierons friend but this review is an honest one, we met over mutual belief that we want to bring hard hitting magic which is both workable for any magician along with being visually stunning and impossible for any audience. Being a creator myself, my reputation is far more important than writing anything false to help a friend out. So, that being said, please although what I'm about to write may seem exaggerated trust my opinion as being valid and honest. When kieron first told me he had found a way to make the ice last longer, my thought was initially why? 'to the max' already lasted a decent amount of time for a gig, what was wrong? well, ok, again, his ingenious brain stumps me and knock for six. What do I mean. So, with 'to the max', the ice last a good amount of time, but in your pocket for 45 mins / 1 hour can tend to leave everything a little soggy and when you bring the ice out, it's smaller and drips pretty much on contact with your hands. When you bring the ice up, it can even drip and has sometimes put out my lighter. I've managed with this, the effect is still awesome and any negatives are kind of out weighed. Urm, ok…. thank kieron, you now raised the bar to ridiculous heights with this new holder. The ice last twice as long - yes, it does, maybe even more so. Is the length of time important - you would think maybe, I'm going to put it in and work in under an hour so that's enough. Well, ok, ill explain this - its not that it last longer, the length of time equites to the melting time. This makes, when you know bring ice out, even after 1 1/2 hours, its sold, not starting to melt. So now when you bring it out, its not dripping, in fact you squeeze tightly and it then starts to drip. It's even still so cold that under certain light, I noticed back-lit, smoke vapour can be seen emitting form your hands before the drips - this looks and is really magic. This also means, I can be with a group a long time and the ice literally looks and feels like it's just been formed. I performed at a house last weekend, 1 hour for 8 people, right at the very end I performed Element. I had been with them an hour, never left the room, ice that is solid, perfect, not dripping - moments like this are never forgotten by your audience. I will also say that the new way of producing a flame on your finger, though Kieron freely admits is not a new idea, what Kieron is ever so good at is his magic knowledge, he reads a lot and finds these wonderful gems, then brings them to us to enjoy, which we may never have discovered. It is amazing, a little scared at first in doing it, after a while practising, I'm now seeming to my audience to be super human, not 'just' a magician. This stuff will get you remembered, more repeat booking, new bookings, awesome showreels and footage form a wide open mouthed audience. If you are still in doubt, I would question what exactly you want form your magic. |

I see that while I was replying the thread got back on topic.
I did want to voice my opinion so here it is,... (please do get back to the point of the thread after reading my views) This is a sad, sad situation. One of my good friends Fritz Alkemade, released his DVD Let's Go Dutch with RSVP about 3-4 years ago. I never heard him complain about not being paid or the company not respecting the contract (I have no clue if he signed any). I even believe this release, got him the opportunity to travel, lecture and perform all around the world, but don't take my word for it. Kieron is also one of my good friends and such a gentle, kind and thoughtfull person (although he freaks me out most of the time ). If he decided to go with E, in order to get a better deal that he has gotten in the past, nobody can blaim him for that. Not Russ, RSVP, me, you OR anyone elso for that matter. I am extremely happy for Kieron to have gotten the opportunity to share his creations with the community at large. I saw the original gimmick and the new one is such a huge improvement. Even if the tricks are repeated from previous projects, the substantial improvements are worth the price of the whole project. No contract you say? Gentlemen's agreement? C'mon,... We live in a world of capitalism and information overload. If you think for a second that you can get away with not signing a detailed contract and having no issues come up later, you are disillusioned and not thinking straight. There are no friendships in business but I do feel that integrity is important. So either sign a contract, make one OR step away from the project and people who call themselves gentlemen and ask just to shake their hand and agree. This really makes me sad, I can't even begin to tell you how much. I am not taking any sides here but, I do want to let everyone know this is getting extremely ridiculous and makes me want to keep my ideas to myself in the future. I wish all the best to Kieron and hope he doesn't get too traumatised by this whole ordeal. |

Looks like you missed your chance to see what's going on Kaliix. Fortunately I saved a screenshot just in case I need to refer back to it at any point. Lloyd Barnes, an ellusionist employee was downright nasty, using much profanity and calling Russ Stevens a t**t. I will have nothing to do with ellusionist, not that I ever did. A dealer to be avoided at all costs imho.
