Just saw Marion Boykin's Double Trouble download. Here our own Café's coin master teaching his favorite anywhere anytime routine with no gaffs. Vanishes, changes, acquitments, and complete vanishes taught in detail. Nothing difficult to learn. You will enjoy his applications and subtle touches for essential sleights. His own version of the Sylvester pitch enables a clean show of hands without obvious handwashing. You can learn his complete routine or just take parts of it and create your own. Highly recommneded.

Marion's "stuff" is "STUPENDOUS"!
This is the type of casual coins "stuff" that I really like. --And, I believe it's the type of material that "ordinary people" like, too! It's very evident to me that Marion is a believer in that acronym: K I S M I F !!! I downloaded it--and, now, I gotta learn how to "read" downloaded material!!! --'cuz my stand up show, AND my close up "show" must stand the test: "...Can be presented, and will be entertaining, almost anywhere for almost anybody." Yes! I learned to perform standing up! Close up pads didn't get invented until Quintino Marucci showed up!

Yes I've never as a close up worker EVER performed with a close-up mat on a table. So coin magic that can be performed standing up appeals to me. I'd be interested to hear from magicians who do actually perform seated using a close up magic, and if so, who to and where?
Bravo Marion. Great stuff my friend.

CPerkins - here goes.... Downloaded routines. Two nice stand up routines suitable for the coin worker. Difficulty level, depends on if you are a coin worker or not I guess. The routines use a variety of concealment and transfer methods which are nicely explained. Angles are good, but need to be controlled for one of the concealment methods. Two nice routines for the stand-up performer (no close-up mat LOL) using ungimmicked coins which can be performed anytime, anywhere. Well done Marion.

Thank you Simplymagicweb. I watched Marion do these two little pieces as well, and you give a nice review.
Marion does what I would call, antwhere street magic with coins....super practical...little gems that really work and really amaze and can be done anywhere with no prep. That is what many magicians look for and these two add to this kind of repertoire of his. cp

Last night I watched Mb 217 Double Trouble video download and I loved it. The effect is great and the patter and technique very clever. I showed the video to my wife and she said, “Wow! How did he do that?”
The video explanation is clear and to the point, and the technique is easy to learn. I liked also Gone (completely vanish of a coin) included in the explanation. Truly recommend it.

I'm going to have to check this out. Mb, I have not studied any of your work before. Are there any prerequisite sleights that I have to know before picking this up?

Hiya pirate…:)
Appreciate your comments here, and I would say that Double Trouble requires both basic and intermediate sleights pretty much. I show you how to do everything, and if you have at least a good basic understanding of coin magic, then I think with good practice you'll be able to do this stuff well enough. I'm not big on long drawn out routines and try to keep things simple and short…Keep it moving! But what you see me do in perhaps :40 seconds with this, is a bit more than meets the eye? To make it all look like that, there's some stuff worth working on in it all. I have shaved off all the unnecessary brittle and cut-to-the-chase as to the little routine to give you a nice carry-around, do-anywhere/anytime, ungaffed coin effect. There is a lot of smart stuff to it as to the moves and pattering interaction, so it looks like an advanced routine as to SOH. Feels pretty basic to me, as I play around with this stuff all the time. But that's how I worked out all the kinks to come up with it. It wasn't all that easy earlier on, but it all got easier and easier as I journeyed onward…Enough to be able to offer another doable effect to the craft at low cost That said, I'm happy that you are looking into my work. I think there's some good stuff in there to learn & play around with. And as always, let me know here if I can be of any help. *Happy "Martin Luther King" Day to all.

I have most of MB's large catalog of work. This one does not disappoint. He has a few "moves" he really likes and puts them together in very clever ways. I was mostly a card guy with basic to very low intermediate coin skills until about 5 years ago when I suddenly had "time on my hands" and could put a lot of effort into learning more advanced coin magic. MB's stuff made for a perfect transaction. It gave me confidence to "move up" and step up my game with coins and 5 years later I am tackling many advanced sleights thanks to the foundation and confidence MB's clever routines gave me. He is truly one of my hero's in coin magic. - Just Sayin
