This is more of a question than anything else...for the disclaimer...I believe the only one that can help me on this is those into magic from the NYC area and probably in their 50's or 60's I'm 64...
Anyway..in the 70's in Times square, I believe on either 7th Avenue or Broadway and about 44th or 45th streets there was a LIVE magic show, the gentleman on the street was busking tickets using either a Willie the Worm or a Rocky Raccoon ( I can't recall exactly)you purchased a ticket and walked down a flight of stairs to the theater, I recall it had a small stage with folding chairs and they had 3 0r 4 45 minute shows a night with a few magicians...Does ANYONE remember this? Why do I ask you ask? Because I was actually one of the performing magicians and just trying to find another who remembers this so I know it wasn't a dream.. |
