Hi Allstair,
Here are some more suggestions for consideration. It would be nice to add an option to show the memdeck indexes. Currently "show indexes" shows either 1 to 52 or -52 to -1 An idea is to show in the lower right corner the number of the card of a memorized deck (perhaps using a different color to inidicate that is the memdeck number of the card). When card is picked "Pick up" it is displayed with a sleight black border to show/highlight the card selected. It would be nice to have an option to toggle between showing the selected card (black border) and not showing it. Thanks, g. |

Thanks for your feedback guys, I really appreciate!
Goochelen, I've delivered a new version where you can save scripts. This is a bit basic but I'll improve that in the future versions. Nice remark about memdecks indexes, I'll implement that. About the selected cards, I'll add a specific command that select/unselect a card, should be really easy. Samchak, I don't think I'm aware about the Kruskal Count, it doesn't ring me a bell, I'm going to have a look thanks. I agree about your backs suggestion, would be very useful, I'll think about it. Thanks! |

Hi Alistair,
How does one retrieve a saved script ? Would it be possible to select which index to display : 1) 01 to 52, 2) -52 to -01, 3) Memdeck order ? Would it be possible to show the index(es) instead of on the right of each card, on the bottom in a smaller font, so they take less "real-estate" of the card ? Thanks, g. |

Alistair,
There seems to be a bug when you click on the 'Display Ordering Indexes' button: the first column (besides the very first card of the column) does not show the indexes, and the last column (rightmost) displays a number which is n+2 instead of n+1. |

Hi Goodchelen,
actually the messages were not really crystal clear, I updated them to make the saving process more obvious. You can access your saved script by a specific url. For instance, the one you saved is reachable by http://www.neo-hypnose.com/magic/deck.fiddler?73eNVQ0Qr And when you update an existing script, you will create a clone (which is a new version of this script). I'mg going to see if I can update the indexes styles in a clever way, it's true that the indexes are too big... In the meantime, you can display the memdeck indexes by using the deck command: deck mnenmonica with indexes -- we choose the mnemonica deck and we display the indexes Hi Claudio, not sure I undertand your bug description. The indexes sound good on my side, could you be more specific or add a screenshot? Thanks a lot! |

Alistair, it's fine with Chrome, but when I use Firefox the indexes are missing on the first column.

Oh ok, got it! I have to admit that I did not test on Firefox since I only use Chrome. I'll have a look.

Hi SamChak,
I've delivered the FLIP command that allows to turn over a card. You can specify a position, an alias (middle, last...) or a card. You can have a look there: http://www.neo-hypnose.fr/magic/deck.fiddler?z2jv5JM87 Alistair |

I got a shuffle machine $20 off ebay. I think it generates a much more natural result than a simulator.

If it can take commands to shift a specific number of cards to a specific location, perform in and out faros, track selections, track stack numbers and output the results etc... then count me in! If not... hm. Guess I'll have to stick with the li'l beauty linked by the original poster. (I always love it when somebody posts 30+ posts in one day so they can hurry up and get access to the additional/buy/sell forums, but doesn't actually take the time to really the threads to actually be topically helpful or contribute.) |

The main issue with these things is that if you want to go from A to B and you are at an intermediate point C, there is no way of establishing a "distance" between A,C or C,B and so for any generic algorithm* for arbitrary operations you are stuck with brute force search. (*In specific cases you might do better.) For example my b-f search algorithm can search up to 26 faros before my lappy hits time and memory constraints, but that is just for 2 operation types - perfect in and perfect out. If you have just four operation types (e.g. in, out, centre cut, run single card) then 2^N becomes 4^N, and you are down to 13 ops. Eight operation types and you can only do 6 or 7 ops. You can't beat exponential time, so the amount you can search is relatively tiny. |

This is great! Thank you!
I am in the process of putting together my own memorised stack and this will be super useful. It will take me a while to figure out how to use it effectively (for instance, it took me a frustrating 10 minutes to realise that tens need written as 'T' not '10'!), but it seems worth the effort. At the moment I am struggling with idea of using it to predict the outcome of various poker deals. I'm sure it's possible but I can't get it to work. Yet. Quote:

I managed to run it under WINE no problem, but I can't save my deck that way. For Windows users though, that will not be an issue and both of these are EXCELLENT resources. |
