No problem , I have bought many a can at Blackpool of SF and it starts off great and has the advantage of only one card needing treatment but it does has that shelf life . After making 100,s of gimmicks I prefer the Plastidip and the treating of both cards is a non issue for me . The price is better too but most importantly the end result is much better as well imo

My old can of SF still works great. Not sure where you heard there is a shelf life?

My SF can is years old (almost out) and it still works fine - no shelf life problem...I think its overpriced but I do think it works better than plastidip and is less visible....PD just seems to be thicker or something. But the price difference will be quite tempting when its time to refill.

Well I have several cans here that I bought when it was first released and I can guarantee you they are not as good as they were . So mine certainly have a shelf life as they definitely worked at first .
I have just tried them again tonight and the SF is definitely more visible too after 30 mins since application than the Plastidip |

I have bought several cans some from the very first issue and some since and all have been the same after a long period of time . Storage has always been room temperature on all and I make gimmicks very regularly for myself and many other seasoned pros , so I know about shaking the cans and the absolute perfect spraying distance and techniques

My can of SF spray is several years old and I just used it last weekend to make another gaff. It worked fine. IMHO, YMMV...
From what I've read from Poof-Daddy, plastidip is similar to Science Friction but in side by side testing, he believes SF is superior to Plastidip but he has also stated that it is only his opinion and you mileage may vary...

The difference is you need to use Plastidip on both the cards for the much better results . It can be used on just one card but if you do that then SF is a better choice ,
however it’s far superior to SF when used on both cards and trust me I have gone through stacks of cans of all these sprays in determining the best imo . Maybe there was a duff batch of SF I got as originally I found it very good but those cans got used up , but a more recent batch I retried recently and the cards were just not holding together no matter what distance I sprayed from , or how much I shook the can , or how long I left them to dry . I make literally 100,s of gimmicks and have never been a fan of R & S but loved the principle and after many years of a lot of research and trial Plastidip is the best by a country mile in my view if you are prepared to treat both cards |

I made some up last night with plastidip, just a light spray on both cards, works brilliantly!

That’s good to know catweazle and to everyone else I am only giving my honest opinion of years of trying to find what works the best for me and my fellow magicians who’s gimmicks I make
I also love Cardsharks products and have many of them and I probably did just have a dodgy batch of SF spray ( he did have a massive fire at his warehouse ) so they may well have been temperature affected in the salvage . I do believe the 2 card treatment is better with Plastidip and it opens up fantastic use of the I deck and alike which I just couldn’t do with 100% confidence with the old R&S methods , on this deck I spray the top and bottom thirds only and separate from the middle third . My natural spreading never touches this middle third and the fact that both the top and bottom third edges are treated the doubles look perfect , I tape the whole deck down on a board taping the middle third with a light tack tape ( 25mm wide approx ) that painters and decorators use and spray the whole lot in one go . I hope that helps at least some of you |

Have tried Harry’s stick but I find it
A) leaves a visible residue B) impossible to be consistent for every card C) more time consuming doing every card individually D) results for me at least are no where near as good ( ie cards separate when they shouldn’t ) I am sure everyone else has there own preferences but I have spent years finalising what works the best for me |
