I just pulled the mesh over a little and sewed through the holes to the inside of the shirt along the buttons where there was already stitching.

The other item was a shirt sleeve that had a separation from getting caught on the clip attaching a servante (which I don't use!) to the back of the table when I performed in the close-up competition at the World Magic Seminar in 2010. Haven't fixed it 'til now, because I wasn't sure how to go about it. Stitched it up last night. Will see what happens. I deleted the before pic and haven't taken a repaired photo yet because I want to do a couple more things (trim edge with pinking shears and hope it won't fray any further!)

Just adding some "plain crochet"- see what that does? Just lovely. A little detail.


They've inspired me, too, to learn how to make some of these kind of things. I do crochet and made myself a vest last year- I'll put up a pick.
I mainly need to learn how to do sleeves. I've downloaded some free patterns, specifically from a company that allows you to sell the items you make with their patterns. I don't follow patterns very closely anyway, since my crochet stitch repertoire is limited and I like to do my own thing, alot. I made my sister a blanket with dragonflies on it- no pattern, just make a dragonfly there, you know the basic features.

I found some cameo hair clips, too. To me, they give a kind of heavier, almost "haunted" vibe. That might just be connotation and context personal to me. I'm not sure why I get that vibe from them, but I think I'm looking for something lighter. I did find some pretty ones that came across somewhat lighter, so I also came across a bunch with skulls on them, so... I do think there might be a little redundancy and self consciousness they'd present, maybe, though. What do you think? There are some very cool animal ones that I really like that I have no problem with at all, of course.
