Does anyone know what's the latest on Alchemy Moon? I know Chris is busy but I really miss the page.

Yes, the Facebook page is the place to be; that is where we will be announcing new products, and also on the Alchemy Moon Forum. The forum is the place for discussions, product questions, and it features sub-forums for those who own AM products and want instructional videos, insight, etc. Chris is working on the website, but it will be changing a bit and is still going through the planning stage. Those who were at ECSS3 got a chance to see Chris talk about his vision of the Moon (and magic itself) going forward, and I also shared some of that in the Dealer's lecture. So Alchemy Moon is there, just a bit more underground. You know where to find us (if not, a pm will get you the info).

Does anyone know if the Little Box of Spirits ever came to pass? It looked like a wonderful prop.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

There is also a members-only FB page which is a closed group - that is where most of this is happening. It is called The New Moon - you can apply to be a part of the group. I don't have a link handy but you can do a search.
Little Box of Spirits was formally introduced at ECSS3. There have been 12 units produced thus far. I will be making 6 more of them later this month/early March, and then another run in the fall. PM me if you want to be on the list. There are 6 names on there at the moment, but sometimes we get a drop out, and then we fill from the backup list. Anyone who doesn't get one this run will be top of the list for the next run.

There is plenty of groups called "The New Moon" but none is the one I'm looking for. Is the group hidden and you can be invited only?

Not sure, as it has been some time since I signed up - I'll have to check. If you go to the regular FB site (link above) and put in your request there, I will get you over to the New Moon.

All that Paul has said is true, and BIG thinks for him holding the fort for a bit.
However, I guess I should pop in here with an explanation - of sorts. Alchemy Moon is still around, but is taking on a new form. At the moment, it takes up all of my time to complete existing orders. Over the years, our stuff has become more complex and time consuming to make. This has resulted in only being able to make a few units in any given year. So, my focus has been more on fulfilling my personal artistic aims - producing fewer items at a challenging standard. I already have too many people on my waiting list, so I think going a little quiet is the best way of not attracting more orders! I remember the day when the Cuss Cards went out in cardboard boxes for fifty bucks! Now I can take up to two months hand carving a single Cuss Cards box. So not a route that leads to financial stability, but it does lead to artistic satisfaction, which - to me - is more important. Having said that, I *am* working on a few products - the most ambitious being a reboot of the Alchemical Artifactum. I say reboot, but really it has become a new thing entirely. This is the most interesting and ambitious piece of work I have attempted. Not only in terms of the graphical design and actual making, but more importantly in the concept. It is the closest I have come to fusing the techniques of performance magic with authentic magical processes. I will talk more about this when it is ready to ship out. (not too long, the graphics are made and the book is written). Another reason for me being so quiet is that I am working through a new direction. I have, over the past few years, become less interested in traditional performance magic and have reached the stage where I do not really see the point in 'fooling people' with tricks. (I hope that this is not a permanent state, as I still have fond memories). So I have been engaging more in 'pure magic' and working out the interface between this and performance. This is not work that can be completed overnight! So I am taking more of a shift from producing to thinking and writing. I am plagued by some rather big questions. The more horrendous the world becomes, the bigger these questions become too. Questions such as: Why do we do what we do? What is the meaning in what we do? and What should the aims of the performing magician be? Now, I talk in the plural, but these are personal question regarding my own personal development. Others may find these questions relevant to their own stage of development - or not. The bigger questions are: Is authentic magic 'real' (I am convinced that it is incidentally)? If so, how does it interface with performance? - and - If it can be effectively interfaced with performance, how does this change the nature of what we do? Are we still entertainers, or can we have a greater purpose? If we have a greater purpose, then what could this purpose be? These questions take up all of my time at the moment - of course there is always the outside chance that lunacy is getting a foothold. Quite a few people contacted me regarding the ECSS lecture - mainly to ask what the hell I was going on about - apparently, the connection was a bit choppy - not helped by the fact that I was attempting to deal with a chest infection at the time (just got through it with a volatile mix of antibiotics and bourbon, so my excuse if I was less than lucid). Although I (kinda) outlined where my head is at in the lecture, I am still not sure if this is any more than a personal direction. Does it have any relevance to the broader community? I am not sure, I guess the lecture was a way of testing this out. The idea of putting this into a more fixed form is potentially on the cards. Again, it is all down to if it is of interest to others. So, let me know! To be frank, I have still not worked out the future of Alchemy Moon. Rather than being a 'magic shop', things are shaking out differently. People tend to find out how to contact me and send me requests. Dealing with this is more than enough - so I am not really seeing the point of having a website at the moment. This may well change if I can devise a way of adding more hours to the day, but for now, as Paul says - the closed FB page is the best way of keeping in touch. (https://www.facebook.com/groups/718414141622718/) - when I re-emerge, I will re-emerge there! I do realise that I have been difficult to contact of late - all I will say here is that there have been reasons for this. So, if you reached out, and I did not return the call - maybe I was not actually there! So first of all, please take my apology and please don't hesitate to get back to me - I promise to be a little more approachable moving forward. So I am in a happy place - I have no need to keep the Moon going in the way it did, and I am happy just making the odd thing now and then for friends. This for me is positive growth and a salve to stagnation - it frees me up to explore more radical ideas and directions. So, the Moon is not dead; just a little weird.
The Moon is now to be found in the constellation of Gemini:
