For me personally the only tool that I wanted to add but never did was the side steal for some reason whenever I went over it I could never get just the one card to slide out of the middle of the deck I would always either end up with 1 card plus a few jutted out or a whole bunch of cards so it was never 100% reliable.
I'm fortunate enough to have a few good card controls that have served me well over the years so it's not like it ever held me back but if there was one technique that I would have liked to have added I would say that was the one. |

I believe the reason we can't learn a specific technique is either we're learning it wrong (misunderstood the mechanics to start with) so we tend to waste a lot of time practicing the wrong moves.. or we don't give enough practice time at all.

So I used a side steal if I wanted my card to find itself to the top without shuffling. Palming one card always seemed less chancy than moving two stacks about. Separate the stacks and display the chosen card face up on top of the bottom stack. Use the top stack to rotate it face down and complete closing the stacks. As your hands close. it hides the slip and clip. The chosen card slips further passed the top stack by about 1-1.5cm. The little finger (of your upper hand) clips the card with the butt of the thumb. Sliding it out and back to the top is hidden by the act of squaring the pack. If you can't display the chosen card face up for purposes of the trick there are other, just as simple, techniques. |

"Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect." Sari I think this sums it up nicely excellent quote
Griffin dance It's funny that although I don't use the pass often the 2 variations of the pass that I do use are surefire for me and have served me well it just goes to show how we're all different. |

The backpalm and production of cards. that's the only sleight I can't seem to get a grip on, per the title.

Clipshift. I gave up because I figured the year I spent practicing may have been put to better use...

The hot shot cut. Not even that hard of a move to learn, but for some reason the card just flops out when I do it. Even my wife (muggle lol) can do the *** move lol

There isn't a single move from Steve Forte's 52 I can do at an acceptable level.

In all my years trying, I never managed to do a good palm. I blame the fact that my fingers curve in a funny way which makes the card visible behind them -- but I might just be giving myself an out!
On the plus side, I feel like the obviousness of my palming technique has forced me to get pretty good at misdirection to hide it. |

Most requested by spectators ("hey! can you do that that thing where you shoot the deck across from one hand to the other?") and, in my case, most liable to turn into '52 card pick-up' is the spring flourish. I can riffle shuffle, one hand riffle shuffle, back and front palm, one hand cut, Charlier cut till the cows come home but that darn concertina thing...

Clipshift, the most annoying thing is that I can do the action but it makes a noise about 80% of the time. I know from a friend and the other 20% of the time that the move should be near silent. Very tough move, will need start practicing again.

For me. It's the center deal. I stopped when I realize don't I had no use for it. Maybe I should go back and explore it more.
