Hello guys - I saw this trick performed by Johnny. But I never heard of him there is a description in the books of Vernon?
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S7974 He parodies the professor - a good comedy)
I love the magic & history of magic! My favorites magicians - Dai Vernon, Max Malini, Fielding West, Michael Finney, Jeff Hobson, Bob Sheets, Nick Lewin, Harry Murphy, Dick Oslund- great showmen of magic!

I was fortunate enough to have Johnny perform it for me about 20 years ago.
I don't think it is actually a Vernon trick; and from memory it isn't described in a Vernon book. But it is fun |

Good and funny magic. Are there sources - get to know the method better?
Magical mood!

Sorry, not following.
I'd just like to know what the effect is. I'm curious. Even if it's not a Vernon trick, we may be able to track down a source... |

Maybe Dominic, will help with the description. I have a bad English The effect of finding a map of the viewer is a very clean option.

I've seen Johnny do this at Simon Lovell's place years ago, funny take off on Vernon and a decent trick. I think he does it on the old Stevens (now DVD) video with Johnny and Charlie Miller. I think it goes with a spec peeking a card, falling asleep and dropping cards, forgetting what he was doing and ending up with one card, the chosen card. It's really a performance trick, needs to be seen.

It really is only on this DVD. I do not know more sources.

Ohhhh, I've seen him perform that before. I think on one of the Fat Brothers DVDs.
I don't own them, and have only seen them once. But that sounds very familiar, and I think that's where I saw it. Quite funny. |

Yes, Tom summarises it well. The entertainment comes from the impression of the Professor.
However, I think the basics of the trick are written up somewhere; that you are running through the pack trying to find their card, not noticing that you are dropping most of the cards as you go. I remember playing around with it about 30 years ago. Scarne's name is in my head but that might be wrong. |

It's been a while since I've seen that, but he did mention Tamariz a couple of times.

Hi Eugene, I think you can replicate the effect with techniques you probably already know... you either know the card they pick before the pick it, or you know the card they pick after they pick it... there are lots of different techniques for either solution. I think he actually mentions which one he is using during the clip
thanks for sharing!! |

Hi, again, Mr. Eugene,
Waiting to hear from Mr. Thompson. (I e-mailed him) Hoping it is released, somewhere? (Performance only-on the tape, @ Stevens Magic) Update: The e-mail bounced-back. I'll try to find another one. |
