I used to love doing The Russian Rings! Very visual, easy to do, and it gets great audience reactions.
I actually developed two routines for it. One performed silently to a custom music track, and another with patter. |

Some pack-flat or pack-small tricks that I enjoy performing are:
- Torn and Restored Newspaper - Hat Tear (with multiplying wands) - Linking Rings - Professional Magic Painting (with breakaway crayon) <-- the painting prop from Dazzling Magic - Visible Colour Painting (with breakaway crayon) - "Clarence the Caterpillar" silk routine (with that bag on a handle, and several wands) - "Mismade Canadian Flag" silk routine (with that bag on a handle, and several wands) - "Happy Birthday Blendo" silk routine (with that bag on a handle, and several wands) - Ropes through Person - Professor's Nightmare - Cut and Restored Rope (with snake can) - Axtell Magic Drawing Board - Colouring Book - Dinamo (Nielson Magic's version of What's Next) - Mental Epic - Jumbo 3-Card Monte (personalized trick) - Donald

The one that Jeremy was performing was an older version of the trick, which was made / sold by Laflin Magic. So the rainbow part has a slightly different look. Like I said earlier, they've sold the trick on and off over the years, and there have been some variations on the look of the prop. If Jeremy was demoing the trick, that meant that Practical Magic in the UK also sold it (and maybe other magic dealers).

I use the pocket size magic coloring book, I also love the zig-zag card, where the spec. signs the card and gets to keep it. (Thanks you Mary M.) And let's not forget paddles, there are many. Including Chad Long's "Flash". And Bag 4 Life is a lot of fun for kids. One more, and this is a great one for me. I do use very much. The self tying shoelace by Jay something, its super easy and gets real reactions.

When I become an elder I will be coming pack to this thread so I will know what to pack in my brief case.

I just added Dan Harlan's "The Awakening" to my packs flat suitcase. It's just a few pieces of rope. If you don't have this, get it NOW. An amazing routine that works for kids and adults, and is entertaining and a fooler. It's basically the Professor's Nightmare, but with instantaneous length changes. I packed it around for several months before putting it in my show - should have done it a lot sooner. Just my 2 cents. Jim
