My wife and I have just returned from Scotland. We were lucky enough to have been invited to the opening of Andy Robertson’s “World Of Escapology” exhibition at the East Kilbride’s Art Centre. My wife Rebecca officially opened the event on Thursday 04th May to a packed and eager crowd. Throughout the next 2 days the exhibition had many visitors, who seemed to be amazed at some of the equipment and the dangerous acts that Escape artists throughout the years have performed. Andy was on hand to answer the many questions from the public, both young and old. Hopefully this will inspire some of the younger generation to take an interest in the art of escapology.
Andy has managed to put on a display of many different types of apparatus that escape artists all over the world have used, In my opinion the 2 items that got the most interest were David De-Val’s Milk Can and Nick Janson’s Medieval Gibbet! The exhibition houses a huge display of posters, handcuffs and probably the most extensive display of Prison Locks that you will see at any one time. The exhibition is themed on Harry Houdini and David De-Val. Throughout the exhibition Andy will also be giving a close up performances of various escapes, including cable ties, handcuffs and padlocks. He will also answer any questions that the public have regarding any aspects of escapology. The exhibition is running until Sunday 28th May and will also include a special visit from member of the U.K.E.A on Saturday 13th May. Highly recommended and the first of its kind in Scotland, the exhibition is free of charge to attend so what are you waiting for?

Thank you Allan & Rebecca for attending and officially opening the exhibition, I was delighted you both could attend. It was an amazing evening and the opening night was so busy! You have stated very well in your comments all about it I cant add anything!
To my understanding it for his s a first for Scotland to host such an event and have such wonderful items on display. Thanks goes to also to Escape Artist Stuart Burrell for loan of his printed art work and to Escape Artist Dan Robinson for his fantastic "Gibbet Cage" that is on display. Cliff I will forward you some photos via email asap. There are some on line at present at the following link to the "Wild About Harry" Site.
