Hi!
The next release by Magic Wagon, GHOST BOX, will be available early this Sunday - May 28th 2017. Here is the description of the effect... A beautiful wooden box is displayed. The front door is opened and a large brass nut and bolt is seen resting on a red velvet platform. The nut and bolt are both examined and placed separately back onto the velvet platform. The door is now closed and it is shown that nothing is connected above or below the box. The door is opened again and it is seen that the nut has now mysteriously threaded itself onto the bolt! The nut and bolt are again handed out for examination. This is just one of many effects that are possible with the versatile Ghost Box! The spectator can thoroughly examine the threaded brass nut and bolt! The effect is completely self-contained and can be performed surrounded! The method is absolutely ingenious and completely mechanical in operation! This is a very clever mechanical device that will open the doors to several incredible effects. The mysteries that can be created are limited only by one’s imagination. The instructions have been written by Mr. John Talbot and outline 5 extra ideas that can be performed with the Ghost Box. The Ghost Box measures approximately 12.5cms wide, 13cms high and 12.5cms deep and has been completely handcrafted from natural aged teak and other wood combinations with a lightly distressed oil finish. It comes complete with everything you need to perform the Haunted Bolt routine including the glass jar which is not gimmicked, but it’s perfect for Mr. John Talbot’s Ghost Catcher routine called PROOF! Thanks to Mr Tony Curtis for the image! What do you think? Simon |

Oh no - yet another MW release. I just love most of their effects and am addicted. But would probably need to take out a mortgage to continue purchasing their effects. This one looks interesting, but I'll wait to hear feedback - then it'll probably be too late to purchase .....
At these prices you must be positive the effect is REALLY for you. Three of my Magic Wagon purchases, although top quality, did not suit my style, so I sold them at a considerable loss. My initial thoughts on this one are that the box is large for a nut & bolt, so might it appear obvious, however ingenious, that there's a sw---h? |

Many thanks for the link and video. It confirms my decision to pass on this one as the box is just too big.

Hello Raymond,
You are right, the price is something to consider, and if you ever need to sell the trick fast, there will probably be a loss of money. Couple years ago, we where used to see Magic Wagon items selling for much more than the initial price, but to be quite honest, it will probably still be the case today, but for 1 or 2 out of 5 tricks. So you always better think twice before getting one. Now if you collect MW tricks, it is different, you finally keep most of the tricks ;-) Last world, I think that if you keep the trick for some times (2-3 years minimum), it will take some value, or at least you won't loose the money you put in the first place. |

I have to agree with Raymond42, the box is just too large IMO.
It would have to at least be examinable as well which doesn't appear to be the case based on the ad copy. |

For me, there must be NO clue as to method, either by dodgy sleights or suspicious apparatus. It has to appear that magic has somehow occurred with NO logical explanation - otherwise it becomes merely a puzzle. Many of Magic Wagon effects satisfy this criteria

I'm aware that these creations sell out very fast and I liked the concept of this one, so made the purchase immediately. However, now that I've seen the video and realizing how large the box is, I'm sorry for jumping in so quickly. If anyone wants mine, please PM me about making the transaction. Thanks!

Hi Payner44. I had the opportunity to have an advance look at this. I find the box looks larger in the video than real life. I can easily grip it from the top with one hand. Great prop. You may find it better suits your needs when you see it in person.

Although typical MW quality, I still feel the size is a serious issue, so I'm still unconvinced

Not trying to convince you Raymond but out of curiosity what size would you prefer for something like this?

Without seeing it, difficult to estimate, but probably about third less overall. Small nut & bolt in a smaller box with seemingly limited space inside heighten the effect.
As is now, the edges to the opening are very wide and there seems to be a lot of black space inside for such a small nut & bolt - highly suspicious to an audience, I would suspect! |

Just received mine and I have to say I really like it. Typical high quality prop.
Is it examinable ... no ... but then the majority of MW props are not really examinable in a real world situation. You could say that about Alan Warner, Tenyo, Collectors Workshop and Viking amongst many other collectable manufacturers? Whilst I am a performer I'm also an obsessive collector. This fits perfectly into the long line of MW quality items and I have no regrets with my purchase. |

The miracle Block effect of theirs certainly can be examined and is a great effect imo Tarik 😊

The box is too big. I received one in trade, it hadn't even been unwrapped yet. I also picked up The Sphinx. The movement of the Ghost Box is obvious and the box is too big. The Sphinx, you have to spent 15-20 seconds fiddling with it while performing.
The Sphinx cost me 125.00 and is in mint condition and makes a nice shelf piece like the Ghost Box.

Everyone is entitled to have their opinion, so please don't take this the wrong way, but Magic Wagon always puts the exact dimensions of their props in their descriptions ... . So you do know in advance how big an item will be. I too feel some of their items are a bit too big for my personal taste and simply don't buy them.

Anyone figure out how to make this thing quite when making the move?
