Hi, I'm looking to add a chop chop routine to my senior show. The one I currently use is more suited for close up, (it's Mark James's). The only two stage ones I know are Paul Daniels and Scott Alexander's, neither of which I'm a huge fan of. Are there any other good routines that would work? Thanks

I read too fast, you're looking for a routine, not larger cups, my apologies.

Why can't you do Mark James routine on stage? I do Larry Jennings routine. Both Close up and on stage.

It might help if you say what you don't like about the existing routines.
Lots of people seem to like presentations that essentially say "you will always be wrong" when they tell the audience to guess where the ball is. That doesn't work for me. My favorite routine is one Tim Dowd shared here years ago. He tells the story of a con man cheating people with this game until an old woman curses him and he always loses after that. There's always a ball under the cup, even when he puts it in his pocket! He gets rude and the ball grows huge. The use of the story works for me, emotionally. Patrick |

If you can find a copy, you might look in Danny Korem's "Without Limits" book for his stage chop cup routine. It has some nice features.
The book was put out in '85, but it still seems to be available. Here, for example: https://www.daytonamagic.com/korem-witho......941.html |

I think the Don Alan Chop Cup Routine would play well in almost any setting.

Check out Paul Daniels stage version. I saw him perform this in Cabaret and it played huge. He did that routine regularly for his performing career. It is based on Ken Brooke's take on the Don Alan routine (according to Daniels).
