Hi all:
Just found another video that is interesting and seems not-fake. https://youtu.be/nvg_SlT2_iw He is selling the T-shirt with a hidden pocket. Sal Piacente demoed a similar idea to tuck a card in a buttoned-shirt. I hope you find it interesting too. The move starts at 00:40. |

Playing the shirt is a real technique. I cannot see what he is doing from a quick look at it.

Seems like another Chinese "Card Trick" since there is no explanation for it. Since he does not spread the cards after supposedly stealing the 3, and then spreads the cards after he brings the 3 back, leads me to conclude it is simply a trick since it appears to be impossible on the face of it.
What do these Chinese demo people do - what is the purpose of these demos? Do they just demo this stuff to get a reaction or for the fun of it, or do they sell the techniques they are supposedly showing? |

It does look a little too clean, so could be lapping the 3...
Assuming it isn't fake, then it looks like the cards are slid up into a horizontal slit in the shirt, which I assume is intentionally hidden by the shirts pattern. I wonder how reliable the method of securing the card in place is, as there is likely a trade-off between how securely the card is held and how easily it is accessed. |

This looks legit to me. He apparently slid the card up into a hidden pocket and you can see the shirt being pulled a bit when he brought the card back, and also you can even see the slight impression of the card in the shirt if you pause at 00:46.
He sells the shirt and is advertising the shirt in this video. On the screen is his contact information. I think this is the same guy that also makes the slick sleeve inserts. A rough translation is that he says previous gimmicked shirts have a brace around the body which doesn't fit the needs in hot summer days, and the newer shirts got rid of the brace. |

Since he never shows the back of the 3 I am left to assume it is just him turning over a double face card like a magician. The shirt is nothing but misdirection.
Why have the other cards at all? He is SO careful with the display and the spread. You never see the backs of all 4 cards. Just sayin. Maybe it is a gimick, but I doubt it. This is no gambling move.

No, I don't think it's a double facer. He flashed all backs in the beginning and throughout the video though he didn't intentionally show the backs.
I personally think sliding a card up a slit by how he handles the cards is way easier than flipping a double facer. |

Cagliostro, understandable. I'm also quite wary about the hustlers' videos I see now.

He never shows all 4 backs. It is a magic trick.
Think about it. Why have the other cards at all if all he us demonstrating is the shirt?

He did flash the backs. Pause at 00:13 and 00:21 and 00:36.
He used other cards to simulate a situation where you can extra cards in hand in a game. I don't think having other cards is a problem in his demo. |

I normally steer clear of these but this one is fun... if his slick sleeve was legit then maybe this is too....but there are several places in the clip that indicate a certain gaff at the face. To avoid exposure on the forum I can PM a clip if anyone's interested. Perhaps I'm wrong.

I guess that is the reason for the huge get ready.
I'd this being sold as a gambling device or a magic gimmick?

It wouldn't be the first time magic has been used to fake demonstrating a gambling technique including by people capable of doing it for real just as well. I've seen it plenty in promos and in high pressure appearances and demonstrations. It's just a little advertising smoke and mirrors.

That huge break apparently facilitates his sliding action.
The third and fourth pictures in tommy's link look like it. |

He sells it as a cheating gimmick.

It seems pretty tough to actually use. The get ready is so bad. That is provided he is not doing what it looks like he is.
I mean on camera from the right angle it looks horrible. The break for the move, whichever move, is pretty easy to spot. And this is his preferred angle. Imagine it in the world.

Man, I didn't notice the website was a China based company. This kindda thing is no way legal in China.

Also when he flashes the backs doesn't he only show 3 of them? Watch close. It seems as if he is doing it everything too carefully. As if they are doubled up to conceal a double face.
