I love learning new ways of doing things. I discovered a new way to hide a coin during a three coin routine.
I had to take kind of the long way around, because I had a heart attack last week. The little iv thing on my arm worked out quite well, and not only that but--a nurse guided me to the room of a little girl to show her a trick, and the iv thing on her arm made for a good hiding of a coin, which reproduced later on her arm. Woah. I'm sure this kind of impromptu learning happens more often than we realize, anybody else find anything right on the spot that aided you in a magic performance? |

Wow. Sorry to hear about that. Hope you have a speedy recovery and many strong and healthy years ahead.
I've recently been using a pocket knife that I carry every day on my right front pocket as a holdout. It has a clip on the handle that hangs outside my pocket where I can slip 1 or 2 coins under for switching during a routine. |

That's a great example of making good out of challenging situations.
When I couldn't use my right hand for awhile I learned things with my left. Now my magic is better for it. The newest aha was with coins. For years I have been using a gravity /sl...... thing changing one coin to another. It's sort of a raven thing without the raven. Last night I was playing with 3 silver and 3 copper coins and wondering if I could adapt the move with more coins. Later I showed my wife(a standard for honesty) and she gave it a stamp of approval. Harris Still too old to know it all.
