I've used it. It's certainly a fun thing to do.
What ideas have you come up with so far?

I performed this a few times 40 years ago...and not since. Lets just say its not a pack flat effect.
However, I saw Paul Kozak perform the Pro Sands of the Desert in 2009 and he referred to it as his favorite piece of magic. Its an awesome effect if you're willing to put up with the mess and set up. If I were to do it again I think I would do it to music. Maybe like this: http://mamtalent.tvn.pl/wideo,1912,v/ilu......612.html

I have tried it with snow storm refills of different colors using the gimmicked bottomless box ( I can't remember the right name for it). It worked out great for kids, takes up quite a bit of table space. Only used it for stage type shows to music.

Doing this is in a living room on a regular basis is a risk. (And I've always loved this trick.)
There are easier ways to get an amazed reaction at a Birthday Party. Also, Kids can buy sand that acts in this way at a Toy store. Even though that would not explain every aspect, it might prove a distraction during the performance. Best of luck. -Mary Mowder |
