Hello dear friends! Got a question -
Is there a difference in these tricks? Market Update by Martin Breese https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbEDdDlRklY and Martin Lewis - Stop The Press https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9dgBWlrtGs Or the difference is only in a colored newspaper? I know how Martin's Newspaper works. I make a comparison - for a better understanding of all versions. I've worked with many versions - but I'm still in the development stage of the best method for my program. Without revealing the methodology - can someone conduct a brief analysis of these tricks? There is one more question - is someone familiar with this version of the trick? It sounds too tempting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7pSWDhUtsc Thank you for your help and your thoughts!

Mentalism does not use tricks? Why do you need this unnecessary controversy?
If you are not interested in an answer? You can just do not argue. I ask for help - not an opinion on mentalism in general. This magic act uses tricks - what can I say more?

So, I don't use a newspaper prediction, so this is sort of general.
What is your claimed ability? As a mentalist, sure you use tricks. But what are you trying to seem to be? Telepathy? Clairvoyance? Precognition? Your answer to this will help you decide what presentation will work best for you. In what way do the versions you have fall short for your needs? This will help you decide what you need from a new version. There are certainly non-trick mentalism performances, so not all of what all mentalists do is tricks. Just don't call anything a trick when you perform. Patrick |

And so far not one person has bothered to answer his question all because of a word. Classy guys.
BTW I can't answer the question as I have not used either. I prefer other methods. |

If that's what you believe you are missing the point as well. To offer anyone proper advice on mentalism the proper foundation and understanding must first be in place. Otherwise you are just a magician doing mental magic tricks.

Ian Keable was the starting point in the study of this magical act. I was glad to have an opportunity to talk with him about his method. After that I began studying the history of this trick and writing the future scenery for him.
I treat mentality from the position of a magician. Martin Lewis like Martin Breese. Made these products for magician from the standpoint of mental abilities. I'm not talking about all mentalism - we are discussing a specific act with the newspaper Koran (Precognition) Criteria of the mental act for me: it should be interesting, fast and amazing.(ENDLESS THIS IS ENOUGHLY BRIEFLY - I do not want to delve into my thoughts) If you give me links to mentalists who all the shows do not use magical techniques - I'll be happy! I really want to study such mentalists! Forgive me if I was not accurate in the wording! Henceforth I will use other words. So as not to offend my friends mentalists! Concerning this topic:Update by Martin Breese - If you own this method - share your thoughts. Martin Lewis - Stop The Press I also have some problems with this. You can send me a PM. Thanks for the help of friends! Do not forget we are discussing - we must respect any opinions and thoughts! We do not lose anything from this - it's just a conversation.

Because he used the word trick? the effects he is referencing ARE tricks, whether you go on to present them to audience differently is up to you. The use of the word "trick", does not mean he will play it as one.. You've been triggered from a single word, that does not mean you know the person you are communicating with, or what his intention is. There is no point to miss, if there was, I don't think "tricks, tricks, tricks.." communicated it very well, you just came off as rude. |

I always treat with humour those people, who try to teach a man - whom they do not know. Well, if a person wants to say his opinion, let him say - I'm ready even to hear his lecture on mentalism - but no more than 2 hours.
And then we will return to the topic of the newspaper Koran. Guys I wish you a good mood this weekend! The magic continues!

After seeing the clip for Lewis' effect, I might actually look into that one. The third clip seems a little too bothersome, from my perspective. Plus, I wonder why the "mentalist" has to turn his/her back at any time during the presentation, especially since the prediction is out in the open beforehand. Just seems to be a disconnect with the effect. I can't give a comparison, since I don't own any of them. But, as I said, Martin Lewis' effect impressed me most. Plus, there's always "Cl** Li**," if one wants true simplicity. |

Thank you for your thoughts. If the methods are identical, then I can say that the version of Martin has one significant plus. If the methods are different then this requires some comparison.
You are right 3 videos - I do not understand what it is? But maybe someone can shed light on routine. I'm glad that we are moving forward!

I don't have it but the essence seems the same. Yet another similar presentation:

In this video Graham Jolley - does the classical version of the Koran. It differs a little from what we discuss.
I like all his presentations. It is always interesting and dynamic!

Market Update is the lazy man's way of performing Al Koran's Headline Countdown Al Koran published the method and secret for his routine in his book Al Koran's Legacy. It was his favorite closing effect but unfortunately the method described in the book just wouldn't work and the secret was protected for many years until Graham Jolley decided to go and see Al Koran when he was working locally. He booked for every night of the show and watched and finally understood the working and now this is one of Graham Jolley's favorite closers.
