Difficult to say exactly "the" favorite, but I recently learned A. Wind's "Tango" in Asi's workshop and he showed us the dramatic structure of the effect, and how to build suspense up to the end of the effect.

In your website you have a quote from J. Jay. Well, JJ is a huge fan of Hitchcock, and many of his effects have a very interesting suspense-structure. In fact he has an effect called "Hitchcock" which probably is a contestant for best suspense-effects. It actually starts with the end.
