I have recently got a couple of tricks which require double sided sticky tape... however I have heard that this can often rip and tear cards. Therefore, I am wondering if there are any alternatives or less strong double sided sticky tapes which I can use in tricks such as NFW by Gary Freed.
I'm based in the UK so US products/stores would be of no help! Thanks everyone |

My tape is very strong too and I use to rub it with a random paper so that they are less sticky.

Go get a pack of cards, a roll of tape, and experiment.
I've used 3M and office depot, and neither has damaged cards before. Cards usually have a waxy finish that should prevent the tape from sticking completely to the paper. |

I have not had a problem with double sided tape taking off the finish, but have had the tape too sticky to release a stuck card as easily as I may want.
However either issue is easily remedied. Before using it, touch the tape with your fingers - sticking and peeling it off several times - and the oils from you fingers will make the tape less tacky/sticky. If you have dry skin, rubbing the side of your nose should pick up enough oil on your fingers to do the trick. This method lets you customize the sides...less sticky on one side, more on the other. |

No need to ask me...you have the cards, tape and fingers...try it and see.

There are 2 different types of double sided tape by 3M. Scotch permanent or removable. I have used both for different reasons. I would try each and see if that makes a difference. It did for me when I used it for a T&R card routine.

@thomas610 I'm in the Uk and I just use normal "Sellotape 12mmx33m double sided tape" (available from Amazon) and that works fine for NFW (which I perform a lot) and cards in general. As others have said, you might need to take the edge off the stickiness with your thumb but I've never had any trouble with it damaging the cards. Hope that helps
