I thought you were into mentalism?

Why you have so thought my friend?
I like all the directions of magic. I do not like distribution on categories. If I like the idea, I add it to my show. I saw this effect was used for mentalism by another magician. This is a universal prop. * I live in magic 24 hours. Therefore, I could not be only in mentalism. Even when I sleep at night - I think about magic - about combining trick methods, I'm writing a book about interactive mental magic, performing online lessons on magic - to students from different countries. I was a consultant in the studio for producing Grand illusion. Therefore, I am well versed and in this topic. But the world of magic is so huge that I learn magic every day.

That is Ali Bongo's version of blooming bush. It is described in his book printed and sold by Magic Inc., Not in any of his lecture notes. It was available way back in the 1970's.
The blendo bag, is sold by many different manufacturers. Magic Inc. also made and sold this. It was never revealed in a book, to my knowledge. Looks like the book is out of print. The tricks are no longer made by Magic Inc. |

Bill, I think he is actually asking about the himber wallet type effect at the end of the clip. If anybody knows where to find that premade, you do.
The clip is part of a lecture that I saw Ali Bongo give on an ISM tape. On the tape he explained how the blooming bush worked and how to make the prop that Eugene is asking about. The youtube clip has a link at the bottom of the description that leads to a lecture that you can purchase. So if you can't figure out how to make the prop through deduction, buy the lecture and it is explained. |

The Himber Wallet type effect is what I call a "Flip-Flap Folder" and Ali-Bongo had several Flip-Flap ideas, not just that one. The original mother of all Flip-Flap Folders was written up in 1584 in Scot's "Discoverie of Witchcraft". Variations of many of them are included in The Wizards' Journal #34 under the obvious name of "Flip-Flap Folders." My variation of Ali Bongo's Flip-Flap Folder looks more like a wallet than his does, yet it allows you to have four "outs" for mentalism purposes, which you can increase to 20 "outs" following the other Flip-Flap ideas and sources included in the e-Book. Just don't perform it in the way Ali Bongo does, which is more like a magic trick than something useful for mentalism.

Thank you friends for giving valuable advice.
I really asked about wallet. I did not know the exact name of this trick. I can not find my DVD of this lecture - so I could not remember the name of this trick. I thought that it is for sale - I would like to buy a quality purse made of leather. I just do not want to waste my time making it. But if it is not for sale - then I have a good master - who can make it. * Ali Bongo's version of blooming bush This is a very beautiful effect - this can be turned into a theatrical routine. I see great potential in this. * Surface investigation of many stores - showed - that this version (wallet) is not on sale. It's a pity that such classical effects are forgotten.

I do still make the Bongo style blendo. It was described in Silk Magic 4.

Indeed, Poof Panel and a couple of df's would accomplish this effect. Google found two sources with no problem.
