Does anyone know where I can get a metal palm or dye tube, the same size as the plastic ones from Vernet?

I don't know about the same size as Vernet makes their gimmicks very small, more for a child's hand.

Thanks bill, I have a rice palmo...it's twice the size of the Vernet.

I may be stuck using these plastic ones.

I assume you're looking for a smaller dye tube that uses a 12" silk.

Morrisey Magic use to make these.

They're still around...a lot of magic shops still have a few left.

They are basically a 1" piece of aluminum tubing 2 1/4" long. There is a ribbon inside that prevents the silk coming out the other end. They are very easy to make. You really don't need the ribbon inside, especially if you roll the ends in.

If you really need a Morrisey one, I have one I can send you as I'll never use it anymore. I use a Viking metal Palmo with 18" silks (on the street).

Cbguy, don't understand your rejection to the suggestions given. What are you really looking for? The Palmo is only made in one size buy all manufacturers. The Simplex is nothing but a tube with rolled in ends to keep the silk in. It is your only choice for a small dye tube. Morrissey made a tape dye tube, but it is not small, as mentioned above.

What is so special about the Vernet you have, I don't own it so cannot compare it to regular dye tubes. As you say, you have a Palmo already, then you know the differences. So that makes me think, the Vernet is designed differently. If it is, then yes, there is no metal substitute.

There is basically only 4 metal dye tubes, the Simplex, Palmo, Tape divider, and plunger. There was a ball with necks made around the openings, but don't know who made it or if it is available any longer. It was large, and expensive, made by Joe Porper.

I was just curious in case such a thing existed. It's not a big deal because the Vernet, which is made differently shape-wise). Metal would have made it more durable, but the plastic is just as well.

Years ago I used the metal Rice Simplex for many years and loved it. Easy to use and easy to conceal. A great item. Then for some reason I dropped the routine, probably a mistake, as it showed sleight of hand, but gravitated to tricks that played bigger.

I am now working on a new routine, but need a larger load. I looked at most all the choices, Palmo, etc., and have come to like the plastic Vernet. It holds a much larger load than the Rice Simplex, conceals well, the color is great for me, and both ends are turned, kind of like the Rice Simplex.

I believe the Vernet is the same or similar in size and shape of the metal Porper one. If I am wrong on this let me know.

The Vernet has no rough edges so it is safe for the silks. However both the Porper and the Vernet are made of non magnetic material, which I would prefer for the new routine.

I will probably find a way to add magnetic metal or a magnet to it. Any suggestions?
