It was inspired ten minutes ago,
by Dick Oslund.
He mentioned the Boy Acout adage,
"Be Prepared",
in reference to carrying a weapon.

I responded,
"Boy Scout were simply 'better prepared', for life."

This brought up the thought.
''Manditory 'boy scouting' for everybody",..?
Nö.

,but.
Doing a bit of research,
I uncovered: crime was at its lowest..
Literacy, amongst minoritys was at its highest...
employment was at its highest,...especially amongst minoritys.
When?
In the 1960's continuing through the 1970's,...until...
UNTIL conscription ended(!).
The Draft.
The Draft,..combined with,
the G.I. Bill,...education after service.
When this came to an end,...
Cow-pies hit the fan.

Violence,..with weapons 'shot' up.
Illiteracy.
Drug abuse.
The sissors of discrepency, between rich and poor, opened like hedge cutters.

'Boy Scouting' for young adults?
I think there is something to it.
Maybe 'the war' isn't abroad,
...but at home.
Any thoughts?

Baden-Powell was a racist and his views on outdoor education were closely tied to his concerns about "the moral tone of our race." In Scouting, he stated that "one aim of the Boy Scouts scheme is to revive amongst us, if possible, some of the rules of the knights of old." I think you are right Stoney. Conversations without context are almost pointless.

As for what a person from another country thinks about firearm laws in the United States it is tough to imagine caring less for the opinion. Much like my opinion on what Germany should do about immigration is of absolutely no value.

This reminds me of the vacuum-cleaner salesman,
going door to door.
Knocking on one door,
the guy answering starts talking about socks.
After two minutes,
the door is slammed in his face,...
the last words he heard were:
"I'm allergic to marshmellows!"

I was talking about a disciplinary/learning system
for young adults.
I believe the Elementary School and 'family structure'
is breaking down,..
and no longer fullfilling the need.
Thus endangering society, as we know it today.

I mentioned, when 'the Draft' was in effect, in the U.S.;
crime was down...
poverty was decreasing...
folks were becoming more and more educated,..
less controlled by the 'state',
becoming more in control of themselves.

I believe also, 'the State' was progressing.
(I lived in Pittsburgh throughout the 1970's.
,...ate 'chicken on the hill' every time Willy Stargel hit a homerun.)
