Hello, I have always been into magic, but I had got discouraged and with being in college and having parents who thought it was a waste of time it made it even harder and I stopped practicing for a few years. Although I had quit I never lost my passion for the art and was still drawn to anything magic related and loved watching performances and still do. I had got inspired and when I went to the library and picked up david blaines book the mysterious stranger that is what made me realize my love for magic. I am now right back to learning all I can. Buying books when my budget can afford it, reading at the local library and practicing every chance I get. I have been practicing for the past few months mostly with cards waiting for the day I build up enough courage to try to perform for strangers. This is where I am in magic and I am glad I came back to it. Nice to meet you all!

Welcome Mordo58,
And welcome back to Magic. Magic is full of Magician's who's Parents thought it was a waste of time LOL. If you have a local Magic club (and it can be just a few Magicians with a common interest that meet up) it can help you get used to performing. It is not the same as performing for the Public but it will help with the nerves (because performing for Magicians is more nerve wracking than preforming for the public) and they can help you polish your performance before facing strangers. Have fun! -Mary Mowder |

This is a great time period for you .... one filled with much movement and momentum. Using the mechinisms for growth ....both intellectually and mentally. Magic is not just a simple outlet for your creativity( it is a catalyst for you) that is why you have not dropped it as a simple hobby or something of unimportance, other people may never recongize this.... but you are an independant thinker and will often march to the beat of our own drum.
Enjoy these first steps back into the art..... You will do great! |

Thank you both for your very kind and inspiring words and advice I live in a really small town where are closest wallmart is an hour away and I have yet not been able to find any other people in the area who also enjoy the art as it is not very popular in my area. I will keep looking and thank you both for welcoming me back and for your kind words.

Welcome, glad to see you got back into magic! I'd highly recommend you to visit a magic convention someday, it's a lot of fun to hang around with people who share the same passion as you Smile. The fact that you're from a small town with no magician's nearby also means there's no competition for you, you'll always be the best magician in town ;-)
