While at this year's I.B.M./S.A.M. combined convention, I posted daily updates containing short chats with some of the talent, the organizers, dealers and registrants. One of the chats I had in Louisville was with Martin Lewis who was one of the performers/lecturers. I thought we might just have a brief chat, but as we got into it, I went down several "rabbit holes" that led to deeper and better understanding of the man himself. It was fascinating to learn at the feet (well, in the seat next to him) of a master of our art. Martin Lewis is a creative genius whose ideas are commercial, entertaining, easy to do, and very original. I thoroughly enjoyed his lecture and recommend that you should see/hear it whenever he appears anywhere near you.
In this week's podcast he talks a little bit about creativity, his late father, Eric Lewis, and how to avoid nervousness prior to your show. This is a fascinating talk with one of magic's lesser known luminaries. I say "lesser known" because he has continued to grind away at working, performing and creating just a little below the radar. He was a member of the fabled "Left Handed League of Magicians" and I know you will get a lot out of our chat. You can watch a video of him performing his own creation, "Cardiographic" (or Cartoon Card Rise), see some photos, listen to the podcast online, hear some product reviews, and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/scot......in-lewis And, as a reminder to Amazon shoppers, please remember to use the link to Amazon.com to help support The Magic Word Podcast.
