Her method should only be learned in person, from someone who knows it at master level. It is a stunt. It's real. It's not for beginners.

If you would like to read about it FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY Sam Dalal published some material ages ago regarding this. Harley is right, though. If one wanted to actually perform this, then a teacher should be sought out.

I greatly appreciate the Dalal book, but I know this material far better than most. It should ALWAYS be taught in person.

1) Trickery and stunts require different attitudes. If you assume that you know the trick, you will not pay attention to what's important.

2) A stunt is based in physicality. Training needs to be interactive. A lot of times, when teaching, I adjust the student's posture or position. It makes the necessary technique different. This cannot be done from a book, nor from YouTube or other internet training.

If you're really interested in it, go to one of the places where basic stunt work is taught. Coney Island has sideshow school. I have Oddity U. Both places will give you a good start (though I do almost twice as much class time as they do, for about the same fee, and consider mentoring an ongoing responsibility).

There's good reason these are called Mystery Arts.

I 100% agree, Harley. Thanks for the heads up on Oddity U. Now I know where to go for hands-on instruction should I get the hankering to perform this type of stunt. I’m not that far from your area, so I’ll keep an eye on upcoming classes. Thanks again
