Good evening all,
I am looking for some (preferably black) thread which is non-elastic. It doesn't need to be too thin, as the effect will be performed in a fairly dimly lit and controlled environment. I have been trying standard sewing thread which at first seems "solid", but the moment I put some weight (averaging 1Kg) on it it droops, which is what I'm trying to get away from. Have you guys and girls got any suggestions of what to try instead? Any assistance you can offer is greatly appreciated. Sincere regards, Ryan Carmichael

Looks like what you are looking for is Wooly Nylon Thread. Found this reference from another café member. It comes in black as well. There is an unanswered question as to, what is the best color thread to use, so don't let that bother you.

A kilogram is much too heavy for Wooly Nylon thread as suggested by another member.
I believe Poof Daddy is correct.

That is the nice thing about Wooly Nylon, if you want more strength then just strip 2 strands as one, as they don't separate easily.

You can try thread made for making fly fishing lures. It's strong, non-elastic, cheap, and comes on a spool.
