After reading the thoughts of many well seasoned magicians, including:
===As videoman stated, "But if you’re hustling and bustling at a gig and trying to quickly reset between tables, you’re almost guaranteed slip up sooner or later, and probably sooner. ===This was my point. You can practice forever and still there is that chance that you are going to slip. No one is perfect, we all slip. And I find it hard to stomach $60.00 each time I slip up. Wonder what refill gimmicks, if they come out with them, will cost? I THINK MANY OF US would conclude. This is fit for YOUTUBE VIDEO. This is not made for the real world. you can easily forget and get carried away when you are performing. Spectators throw you a curve ball, conditions suddenly change. It is sad that a potentially and truly fragile gimmick is being sold for such a high price. |

There is a lot of room between hustling at a paid gig and showing your friends, family and co-workers. Unless you don't consider any casual performance to be "real world". If not in a rush and not stressed out, you are not likely to damage the gimmick. This isn't a bad method, it's just unnecessary IMO because there is already a better method that is a lot cheaper and will never break or get damaged. But Mint Box could certainly work in the real world. |

Some folks here are getting carried away a bit. This is more durable than any gimmick with elastics or IT for example, and those effects are not delegated to only perform on video.
With that said, gimmicks using that type of material do come with extras and the videos show you how to repair it. So with that in mind, I feel that some extra pre-cut stuff should have been included (given the size- it would not have been costly to include) and he could have walked through repairs. That would have alleviated a lot of this backlash, but as I said, these comments here are exaggerated in typical Café fashion. Just my thoughts. |

TuneHV, good idea. I totally agree with you. Those extras should have been included. It seems a tad greedy not to have. Especially for the price.

Well you may think this is an overreaction as far as the comments go. but as we all know, Toibox is there and works. I did obviously not mean LITERALLY that this is just good for video. I meant that this is useful for those who have nothing better to do than to play with the 100th version of card to box, in this case a fragile version without any help on repairing it, and without knowing how many uses you will get out of it. With Toibox and other better methods available, I will leave those who still really want to, to throw away their money and time on this disaster. I am a performer I get paid so I don't have time to play around with a fragile version that will fail me who knows when and when it does I would be left without recourse for repair. so I won't be commenting on the posts for Mint box 99.0. hehe.

I have it and I am very happy with it. Has unlike others an organic look and works like a charm. We pay for the idea the concept and not for the materials necesseraly.

I agree we are not paying for the materials. I do like things that I could easily reconstruct if needed but I understand that is not the business magic sellers are in.

Then this should be 19.99 and toibox should be 99.99. Let's be honest. The idea of this style of box gimmick is not new. So what is this "idea" you speak of? |

The closest thing I can think of is Gaeton Bloom's Monte. That used mylar.
All I can say is... this is very, very good. In fact, I think it's great. Maybe I like using a beautiful wood Kennedy Mystery Box 2 more, but if you want to use an Altoid's box, this is it. Very clever! Robert |

How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.
