The deal looks great; but screwing the deck into that grip... that's rough.

That has got to be one of the best bottom deals I've ever seen. Maybe the best. I'm curious about something though. In your blog you state that it took 3 or 4 years to get comfortable enough to perform your BD comfortably in front of an audience. How many hours is that per day/week? Did you really only spend 20m per day as you suggest for others? Would a couple hours per day translate into quicker proficiency, or is it like the "high weight, low reps" principle for building muscle? |

Hi Jason,
I’m very impressed by your bottom deal. With Steve Forte, your technique is the best I’ve ever seen. I agree with you, the various sources you give are great, especially the Gene Maze book. Nobody talk of this book. It is one of my preferred book in my vast library. It’s the first time I see a front side bevel on the deck prior to a false deal. Seeing your result, I need to try it ! Intuitively, I would say that it reduces the friction between the bottom card and the remaining cards. What are you using from the Giobbi description ? The slight buckle action the free the bottom card before the deal ? |

As a PE teacher, I know that the more we teach, the more we understand what we and we improve in the process.
I would be nice to write a book specifically on this sleight after learning so much with your students. |

Your grip is awful, your fingers flashes and you don't show the bad angles. You're miles away to have the perfect bottom deal.

I have to agree with Arnold here. It may serve you well to post videos of your technique over in the gamblers forum to get actual “honest” feedback.

A while back there was a post on his Pinky count and I was having problems despite hours of practice in a day. I cannot remember if it was in the thread or via a PM thread I was having with him but he told me that was "too much a day" for one move. It is possible to practice several hours a day when you can, but keeping each "move" to 20 mins or so. This is also similar to the advise that Lee Asher gives when it comes to "breaking in a deck of his Fournier 605's" These cards are "varnished" and typically takes around 10 hours of "break in drills" over around 4 weeks. You go thru a series of 20 minute drills every day for four weeks or so. He has a free PDF on his site on conditioning the cards.

Hi, Arnold. Are you still planning to shoot a new bottom deal video? |

Guys you are tough ! I would like to see your bottom deal or indicate us some links of good ones. Finger small movements are impossible to remove : the card have to pass over them one way or another !

@Rachmaninov:
AMcD posted a video of strike bottom deal on his facebook page. It's probably the best strike I've seen, and it was shot from the worst angle. |

I don't have time to shoot another video, but here's an old one: https://youtu.be/Jmvtq9zLL8M
We're not tough with him. He is very arrogant and full of himself. Yet, his bottom deal technique is hardly enough for Magical purposes. |
