Hi everyone. Can anyone give me any ideas regarding large fake rivet heads as I want to give a forthcoming illusion build the Steampunk look. Plastic would be ideal with aluminium as second choice.

Thumbtacks. They come in lots of sizes.

You could also cut the legs off of some brass paper fasteners.

If you know someone with a 3D-printer (and who can draw it in 3D) then you could have them look exactly like you want.

Button top wood plugs painted silver or gold or faux rust.

Thanks to everyone who replied. One source that looks very promising are upholstery tacks. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes and finishes and are not expensive.
