First off, it's Steve Dusheck's Lethal Tender. (more on that later)
While the execution looked fairly clean, the camera catches the pickup a bit. Is that how you intend to present it to real people? With music in the background and them sitting at eye level with the edge of the table? What's the setup, premise, besides "hey watch this"? What you present is a good bit less than the original routine and is missing a number of convincers. The set you have doesn't look like it's made like the original -- it appears you have a normal chinese coin and a sh*mm*d sh*ll? |

Thank you sir. One thing I have noticed in these threads is how much discussion involves placing proper credit to the owner/creator of magical effects. Learning patter and proper presentation is difficult enough for me. I don't think I will ever be able to remember who to credit. I love the art and wish to be good enough to entertain. I am awaiting arrival of a certain coin (not included) to add to the routine. Perhaps using a mat would aid in preventing the coin sliding a bit. I certainly appreciate your response and I will do some research on the original routine. Thank you.

Interesting take, but the advice here is good to take note of the original routine, as there most certainly is a lot more to it that could perhaps teach you a little more as to the effect and your magic.
And also here, as to originality, creating and credit...well, a lot of people speak of it because it is of some noteworthy importance. It's how we keep track of the journey of it all and better recognize those that actually helped us to get this far within it. It's like recognizing the importance of the NBA's, Dr. J (Julius Erving) in the evolution of what you see and recognize so vividly today in the greatness of LeBron James...It all comes from somewhere, even if you happen upon it from where you are...Just good stuff to know along with the magic of it all. So, I do think that mentioning Steve Dusheck (a real genius of a magic creator) here properly is of real importance, especially when your post declares Roy Kuepper (indeed, a very good craftsman) as the creator. Another alternative here could be to just not mention anyone at all, since you say it would be hard for you to remember what's what or who's who as to all that...That would probably get people just right into the review of your work, as you like it. But honestly, this is a good lesson to learn along with the magic...Just a little re-definement and clarification so that you know a bit better for the journey here ahead as to such things. So, while I sorta like what you did here, as solidly mentioned here by inigmntoya, there's more in that well to be considered and recognized. *Oh, and welcome to the Café...It's a wonderful place!

I tried to watch it but as soon as I realised it didn't have any presentation and just music in the background I turned off as I find those sort of performances really boring sorry.
