It should go without saying that "The Big Apple" refers to New York City (NYC). But for those who haven't heard that appellation (pun intended), then...well, there you go. In this week's podcast we get a brief overview of some of the history of local magicians and places that have made NYC important. Richard Cohn, Herb Scher and David Kaye join me on this week's podcast to talk about some of these important landmarks including Al Flosso "The Coney Island Fakir", and some of the local magic shops and "hang-out" spots for local and visiting magicians. This podcast also serves as a "magic travel guide" for NYC of where to go and what to see when you are in "The Big Apple".
This weekend (April 14, 2018) is also the annual "Salute to Magic" honoring Bob Little and sponsored by the S.A.M. Parent Assembly #1. In this podcast we learn about some of the history of the S.A.M. and the Parent Assembly and its founders...like Houdini. This podcast is also a little "time sensitive" in that there is a contest running until April 14, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. EST when we will draw a winner's name for two FREE tickets to the "Salute to Magic". If you live in or around NYC and would like to attend, then be sure to enter the contest NOW. It will only be open for a limited time. You can read the blog, enter the contest, see some photos, listen to the podcast online and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/scot......ig-apple Congratulations to the winners of the recent contest for a copy of Nate Staniforth's new book, "Here Is Real Magic": David Thornburg, Tim Glander, and Bob Hale.
