I am looking for the effect where it looks as though you have 2 rubber bands but then one of them actually desolves leaving you with just one. What is this effect called and where can I find it?

Dan Harlan's Rubber Band Magic (L&L) vol 1 (at very end of second performance) listed as Mark Fitzgerald's Back Together / Dave Neighbors' Twice as Crazy and Crazy Link. One of my personal favorite's.

I had a routine in "Power Plays" called Routined Rubber. A single rubber band splits into two. Those two penetrate a couple of times. Finally, the two become one again.

I think there is a version in Thomas Blomberg's book too, not sure how it compares with the others that are suggested here

What you're actually looking for is my Crazy Twist Vanish from Vol.1 of Magic with Rubberbands. It's my version which allows you to convincingly display the "two" bands one-behind-the-other as though you are about to repeat the Penetrating Rubber Bands... then slowly melt one into the other.

Ageeed! Great ending to CMH. I especially love to do this when a spectator says, “oh I saw what you did there”

It's called the Crazy Twist Vanish huh? I've been calling it Crazy Man's with a Twist for years, go figure.
Either way, if one puts in the time to learn CMH, this version should absolutely follow it. Lastly vanish the final band ( I do it up my nose) and you are done. Quote: On May 24, 2018, DanHarlan wrote:

This Idea of doing CMH along with various handlings like using the spec to hold one band, Using one thru a ring and pulling it thru with the basic CMH action and a couple other leave me to believe that "vanishing" one of the bands while looking set up like CMH again, Is the same type of PERFECT ending as doing Dr Daley's last trick flowing together with Twisting the Aces. Better yet, it is as natural as the radio playing "We are the Champions" run together at the end of "We Will Rock You". Just my perspective but I would be willing to bet more people agree than disagree on this.
