Warren, though my walking liberty set is made by Johnson Products, JB Magic’s gaffed coins are, IMHO, of good quality. I think for the set of precision coins you receive with HH set, the price is very fair. I know my set was comparable in cost.

I’ve just ordered the expanded [ and matching liberty halves set, and an English penny expanded [ which I assume are the same as the ones in this set. I’ve also asked Mark by email if he would sell me a Sun & moon as well to effectively give me a HH set without the extra abundance of spare [[‘s!!
I’ll report back when they arrive. |

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait, I had to wait for months when I ordered a walking liberty [ set off Todd Lassen but it was definitely worth the wait.

I’ve ordered a Walking Liberty triception as well - according to Mark’s website all the items are “in stock” - but we shall see - I’m in no rush, but you know how it is when you buy something

Mason's coins for me are hit and miss. I have all his deep dishes and never have had a problem. Triception I sent back and got another, much better set. Come Fly With Me Morgans and halves were exellent. In no case does the work come near to Todd Lassen coins. About as good as the old johnson and better or equal to Tango on their high line of silver coins.

They are on a par cost wise with Tango in the most part (if not slightly more reasonable for some sets) so if the quality is slightly better then that should mean excellent bang for buck. I shall be interested to see how my order matches up. |

I've never really heard any positive comments regards Tango coins with the exception of their TUC coins.

I don't own a Tango coin of any sort. A good friend has a TUC which I've had a play with and like a lot - I can see myself getting a liberty walking TUC next.

As I mentioned the TUC has a good reputation so your not going to be disappointed.

TUC Limited Editions in Silver coins are better made than the clad coins but carry a premium and if you normally work with clad you will be fine. (Clad are nom-silver coins like 1965 and later Kennedy Halves)

All their silver products that I have are better fit and finish than the standard products. For me this counts most in working parts and shells. Flippers, Locking, cig thru, etc. So even their standard clad copp/sil is fine for me. Again - anyone wants GREAT coins, you have to go to Todd Lassen in my opinion. Once you touch Lassen work you're aware of what perfection can be. Tired of looking at fatter faces and wider rims on a sh**l? No problem with Lassen sets. I can't even tell the real from the Sh**l with his sets. Art. Burt iof you can't wait and pay the price, Tango is doing a good job.

Will be interesting to compare them to the JB coins I have on order too. I’m sure I will get in touch with Mr Lassen at some point - I’m not in any great rush and it’s most likely to be a decent wait anyway..! |

Now is a great time to order from Lassen for delivery around Xmas of 2019 I'd guess! He's always slammed with more than he can get to. Long waits but so worth it!

In the meantime, I want to carry on practising & performing with stuff which is “good enough” - of course everyone’s definition of good enough will differ - and one person’s good enough will be less picky than another - for me “good enough” has to be usable, easy to handle and not stick out like a sore thumb. I’m also firmly in the “handling is the most important bit” camp. |
